I can hear Champion bottles opening all the way to Croatia, big day for Barca supporters Barca has now got rid of almost all unwanted players and I guess that is the best they could have hoped for. Don't know why they bought De Jong though, but if somebody knows what De Jong brings to the club it is Koeman so I'll keep quiet for now.

Melo-Pjanic deal had to be made to balance the books. It had nothing to do with football goals just financial. When you sell the player all the money goes into that year, when you buy the player it is divided per contract years. Both teams paid full amounts just because of that, instead of making a swap and paying just the difference. You buy Pjanic for 60M and give him 4 year contract, the books show net loss 15M for that year. You sell Mello for 50, books show income of 50M for that year. Meaning you just made 35M in that year and balanced your expenses.

I don’t understand how Barcelona handles their transfer and business. You exchange Arthur Melo with Miralem Pjanic and didn’t care to play him or integrate him into the team. Was he a replacement for Sergio Busquet or a pair to the midfield? I don’t know. But how a player of that caliber couldn’t even get 3 consecutive appearances is something unexplainable. Arthur Melo is a very decent and intelligent ball playing midfielder. A kind of midfielder that’s rare to find nowadays. A replica of Xavi Hernandez. A player that brought back the idea of the old Barcelona midfield. But the club had him exchanged for someone that couldn’t play.

Normally, I think that Barcelona wouldn't lean towards a deal like this. Because I believe that Miralem Pjanic is still a very good player. He would have contributed to the team really nicely. However, they are in a quite bad financial condition now and they need to open space to increase their wage budget. I heard that Besiktas were going to pay €2.5m and the rest of his salary will be paid by Barcelona.

It is said that Barcelona are still after Leipzig's 23-year-old midfielder Dani Olmo. They failed on signing him in the last transfer window. But they are planning to make an offer to him again. But as long as Barcelona are still in the same financial condition in January, I have some doubts about them to be able to sign him. I wonder what happened to Pjanic because he used to be rated as one of the best midfielders at that time and was compared to the likes of toni Kroos and Modric but all that is story for another day. Anyway, Goodluck to him a Beşiktaş. It's not a bad club only that it's a small ones compared to the previous clubs that Pjanic used to play at. If he was still in Juventus, I feel he wouldn't have flopped. Same thing that happened to Greizman in Barcelona happened to him. Top of their game, made the transfer and lost form.
