There are some nice projects in altcoin section, i think buying coins or tokens during ICO can be good investment.
Other than that investing in bitcoin itself is best investment, community is just getting bigger every day and from what I see price can only go up. Altcoins, i don't know. There are just too many of them, how to pick the right one for long term investment?

Yes I agree that the bitcoin has a great potential and the acceptance level of the bitcoin is increasing every next day and even the world strong economies are thinking on to recognize and accept it legally. But for the bitcoin investment you are required with a huge capital as compare to the Alts. The Alts have more potential to double your investment, even if it is a small one.

in fact that is really a very good news about  bitcoin that its acceptance are increasing for every next time, and after japan so many other countries may have start thinking about  bitcoin to consider it as legal currency. and that is way the investors are too much confident and are not going to sell bitcoin but going to hold it for  future. they know about the future of bitcoin, which look like very stronger and bright.

If i have 500$ right now, i would probably invest in altcoins like monero, ethereum, waves and iconomy. These are fast progressing cryptocurrencies and are sure to produce good returns.

Considering current situation, I would invest in etherium or maybe in light coin. As bit coin price is rising so price of altcoins is rising to. It is risky from my point of view because in some point price will drop for bitcoin and altcoins. I would invest in bitcoin to but 1 btc investment at least. If it was TODAY. i would go 50% BTC, 20% ETH, 10% XMR, 10% TAAS, 10% DGB.  50 % BTC because it is the best store of value available in crypto. 20 eth because there are many tokens servers building on top of it, 10 XMR because i believe it is a privacy coin to real life use potencial, TAAS because i like the idea of a fund backed by a token 10% DGB to go for a cheap coin with growth potencial.

Invest in ICO's, look for ones with revolutionary ideas. Things like ETH, bitcoin etc have already pumped so while they may go higher in the next 1-2 years they won't go up 100x or 1000x like some of the promising ICO's will. For me in particular I like Aragon because they will revolutionize how companies operate in this globalized world.

Would you mind telling us some of those promising ICO's other than Aragon. Been having difficult time choosing great ICO these days. One or two would be great

I think even after a long long time you will not get a satisfactory income for which you are waiting, therefore to me I think it will be more profitable to find a cheep but potentially good altcoin and invest your 500$ there. and hope that if the price of such altcoin goes up it will give you a decent income.

exactly. $500 is just too small to keep holding on btc, if you have bought $500 worth of ICN during the time when this thread started, it could have almost doubled by now. Investing to tokens with higher potential like stratis or waves, you must have multiply it more than 3x.

Holding is popular but if you want to grow the amount of bitcoins you invested equal to $500. You can try to go with trading, if you will hold it you can get some basic return but when it comes to increasing the quantity of bitcoin you are holding there's a lot of ways. But yes, this is the safest way.

May be investing into bitcoin and etc would be good for now. LISK is having great potential and it is growing with time also. But if you would ask me then my first preference is of course bitcoin. We can not rely on ETH and imagine that the price would pump like that of bitcoin to 2000 dollars as it is still in developing stage and people often are investing money into bitcoin only. Due to this fact bitcoin gains value day by day and it start pumping into price evaluation. LISK and LTC are still away from such pumps they are still growing but it doesn't assures me for investing. What if they crash in the coming time due to bitcoin and ETH being on the top. So it would be bitcoin and ETH.
