Like @muzuca, I'd also recommend DeepOnion, and in general any cryptocoin that takes privacy as it's most important objective; these are the ones that will survive, once the majority of the people realizes that having all transactions publicly available is something no one wants. If I had only $500 to invest I would pick from bottom, undervalued and promising coins for long term holding. For example I would put my money on Aurora DAO, it's very cheap now. when Idex market users become as high as Kucoin and Binance users it will go up significantly.
