Merging and splitting doesn't happen on the blockchain, so it all happens in the backend so to speak. yes i know, but if i split and merge my same chips again again and again in the webif did the mixinground increase 1+n ? or is it still only an 1 mixing round cause i get on every split/merge action the same chips again ? for example: Fund 1.024 btc : Choose the button split in 2x 0.512 BTC and then merge back to 1.024 BTC than split and merge again ... and so on best regards moejoejay

No, it changes nothing... If you split and merge your chips, your chips are just values on the system. If you split the 1.024 BTC into two, withdrew them and put them into different sessions of 0.511 BTC (after paying tx fee and donating a bit to chipmixer) then yes it owuld make it slightly more private but not much as it already does quite well at mixing chips.

You deposit 256 mBTC - You receive 256 CHIP no. 111. You click "split" - Chip no. 111 is exchanged for two 128 CHIPs: no. 52 and no. 95 You click "merge" - Chips no. 52 and no. 95 are exchanged for one 256 CHIP no. 69 Split-then-merge does not affect privacy. You split to hide chip sizes you receive from ChipMixer. By default you receive the most effecient chip sizes. You merge (ie. new deposit and old voucher) to withdraw chip larger than each separate deposit.

Hi guys, just a question
Wasn't Chipmixer working to integrate the service into the Electrum wallet? I was sure to read it on this topic but I can't find the post that talked about it anymore. Make me wonder if I was just dreaming...

No there was a discussion on chipmixer wanting to make a distro of electrum that had its service in it. I'm not entirely sure what happened to it but I think chipmixer had it more of a hobbyistic/experimental strategy rather than something that was definite...

They did. But it's probably outdated and installing it is hard. They are working on an Electrum fork with ChipMixer integrated. btw. how about the electrum chipmixer plugin there is no update on github since Jun 10, 2017
We do experiments and measure their usage. Installing Electrum plugin is harder than using ChipMixer with browser. Low amount of our users use plugin. Updating the plugin will not change it. We are working on bundling ChipMixer plugin with a special version of Electrum - it may change it. And this older one: We are experimenting with a fork of Electrum wallet, eh. They already told us they will not merge any mixer integration - even as a plugin - but this will allow keeping wallet up to date with all new features and extend them with special handling of chips.

Thanks guys, that was the posts I was looking for.
So a question for Chipmixer: Do you know when, approximatively, your fork of Electrum will be ready

My guess would be that that's not a major concern of theirs at the moment. Their major concern should be looking at why the daemon kept getting stuck and how they can resolve it (probably) and it does look like they gave up on making the electrum distro or maybe they're just hibernating it until they get more time...

As you guys have done really interesting stuff in the space if transaction privacy, I'd really like to collect any feedback you have on this: https://github.com/RHavar/bips/blob/master/bip-bustapay.mediawikiIt's in early draft stage, and I'd especially be interested in how suitable you'd feel it would be to support or if there was something that would make supporting it easier. (I also have a rough reference impl if something's not clear)

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

Split-then-merge does not affect privacy.
But as you said.. youre getting another chips from the pool so if u do so so the mixing round is increasing or ? what happend if i do this split and merge twice times the chips wich i had deposit did i get the same chips no. or another ones from the pool. best regards

If you split then merge a chip you're essentially getting a new chip but you're not improving your privacy because you're not re-mixing your just exchanging a chip for another one... by all means do it, it just seems a bit of a futile effort.

Don’t use the clear net site as you could get a man-in-the middle attack. I think the tor one should be fine though if you want to keep using their service. @tryninja, do ssl certificates “run out” I mean you have to update them every so often to keep stuff secure but do they run out? If not it’s probably just a corrupted profile somewhere.

If not it’s probably just a corrupted profile somewhere. Chipmixer is using a "Let's Encrypt" certificate. Last time i used them, those certificates were only valid for 3 months (IIRC). Since the private key is generated on chipmixer's side and never sent to letsencrypt's servers, the private key isn't known to anybody but chipmixer... This should be enough to avoid a MITM attack. The reason certificates expire has something to do with the fact that the revocation status of an expired certificate is no longer published. This means that an expired certificate can be revoked without the surfer's knowledge. In Chipmixer's case, i can only assume it's probably just the task of renewing the certificate that hasn't been automated.

Are you saying that after they spent ~100 BTC ($640.000) in their signature campaign (advertisement) for over one year and almost another hundred BTC in forum ad slots, they decided to ruin their reputation for $100? When did you write them an email? And to which email was it?

General reply time for an issue like that should be expected to take longer than 48 hours to resolve technically speaking. There’ll be a log in the databases they’ll have to check in order to see if they owe you the extra or not.

in this case probably you received 2 private keys and 1 voucher code and you received a voucher code because the site most likely run out of that specific chip size if your invalid key starts with other than K and L, it's definitely a voucher code so, please do a quick check on it but don't post the code here

I wrote to the mail indicated on the site, I am waiting for the third day, there is no answer
