I hear you.  But if someone doesn't pay up.. I'd be happy to take their spot (for 2). Smiley

M

If somebody doesn't pay up, their spot disappears.  We already have the minimum in escrow.  Canary will be VERY happy to include you in the other group buy.

Cutoff for payment is less than 7 days now right?  We down to what?  Six?  Do we have a counter or something?  I like counters.

I don't see that specified anywhere.

On the 4th, ~friedcat said the "lead-in is conservatively 15-20 days."  He is likely in negotiations with various people about delivery batches and such as we speak.

If ~arklan can just give ~friedcat {n} amount of BTC without a bunch of wishy-washy 'we hope to get some more BTC from various anonymous bitcointalk losers' type stuff then it is more likely that our group-order will be queued up early.  If not, we'll be more likely to be sucking hind tit to groups which have their act together.

I think right now arklan and john are just waiting to hear back from friedcat.  Once that happens, I'm pretty sure the order is going in.  We have gotten enough people paid up.  Anyone left can go to one of the other groupbuys.

Thx for the update.  Seem fair and will hurt no-one.  Particularly if you try to ship in rough order of those who put their money on the table.

I would vote that when you get a chance to make the deal with ~friedcat, you just take the existing pot and lock things.  Those who were asleep at the wheel...or just flakey...will just have to suck on it.

oh, uh, no. totally not my timer at all. though it WILL be daytime in china then, so who knows. if john and i hear from friedcat and go ahead, i will probably send out one last ditch effort ot contact people, giving them 6 hours to reply and then cancel any unpaid orders.

I think that is more than fair.  No one should complain if they miss out (of course, we know they still will though.  Wink ).

I have set up another group-buy at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=201577.0.

This is an International one so it is more expensive but it is available to all of us that don't live in the US/Canada and Europe.

Neil

EDIT: Anyone in the US/Canada and Europe is welcome though.

For such a buy or one like it, I'd like to see some option to just have them sent straight to you to operate as a pool along the same lines as your earlier idea(s).  With a reduction in the cost of overhead of shipping ans what-not of course.

I personally won't be buying any more of these types of until the price comes down.  Probably significantly.  Also, I intend to put a lot of focus on supporting efforts which are as open (and open-source) as possible.  But anyway that is feedback that you might consider.
