invest only in bitcoin?

A question of a beginner, I read several articles that say better invest in bitcoin only (most of articles are from 2015-2016), but as bitcoin exceeds now $2500, I do not know if this rule still holds.

I want to invest a lot of money (let's say $3000), but I do not know if I have to invest only in bitcoin or other alcoins? What do you recommend?

btc is still x3 more than 10 months before . that too , after lot of fuds , regulations , mt gox , hack news etc etc .

      Yes bitcoin is known as the king of all cryptocurrency but investing only in btc is not a good idea and you must look forward of the other crypto, like eth and any altcoin because if bitcoin fall, at least you have other coin for your investment, just make sure that your altcoin has a potential to grow.

if you are a long-term investor. there are many promising altcoins relate your investment plan. you can browse or delve their progress on by one
. I prefer you to have some blue chip coin such as Ripple, Waves, or etc (it is truly my opinion).

Nobody would not get any good result for holding a one coin since holding more coins will be suitable and most profitable. Holding bitcoins will create panic to anybody if price fall will came. And holding more alts will be good since we may get more selection if the other half will fail. There are so many things that we need to look before believing on one so that our expectation to gain will became good and achievable.
