You can also sweep directly into the Pandabank by using the console.

In a nut shell. Pandacoin is a Proof of Stake coin that had extensive development work back in 2014. However just as was the case for Bitcoin, Dogecoin and many other coins, it's original development team moved on to other things and the community picked up the pieces and continue to build from where they left off. The principles behind Pandacoin were and remain. 1. Honesty 2. Fairness to all people 3. Integrity 4. Courage in the face of corruption 5. Love for furry ferocious black and white animals Come and say hello inside the Slack group. http://cryptodepot.org:3002/

Hello
first off it's great to see that PND still exists and even had updates on git.
I am actually somewhat active in Blackcoin, though I would be interested in becoming active here too. Blackcoin just pondered plans to create a multisig address that could be used to send a (free of choice) percent of the staking to and use it for donations, project funding and stuff.
Do you think something similar is possible with PND too?

I remember the Wolong scam of 2014. It is funny now to see this anti-Wolong coin, which only existed to compete with the PANDA of Wolong, resurrect While the genesis may have been to compete with the Wolong coin, it advanced a long way from that. Which is why it is still here today. That was a great time, started as a Doge fork to troll one huge scammer and then when the scammer was gone eventually PND lost it's purpose. It was actually my idea on IRC back then to implement PoS and an own multipool to Pandacoin when I discovered Blackcoin and thought it was a great idea to have a PoS coin and a miningpool that mines profitable coins and sells them to buy PND back. Amdoge managed to get that thing running and I had a lot of fun mining PND back then. Great to see, that it's getting developed again and I also like the donations to Panda aid funds! Now this great project just needs a few pushes to get it back into the light. Rank 150 on CMC should be possible at least, with the current BTC price, that rank would also mean ~100,000 USD donations to Pandas in China PS: My wallet only has one connection to the network, do you need nodes?

BTW syncing takes awfully long, I suppose PND still uses Scypt? Should consider switching to SHA256 for the PoS blocks, makes the whole thing faster.

Did you download the snapshots at http://cryptodepot.org/downloads/ ? Sometimes they give you a little hassle to load, but well worth the effort.

If syncing takes time, try downloading snapshot from here: http://dev.digitalpandacoin.org/index.php/download-2/
