Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?
Sorry if my post is in the wrong place or it's not relevant.

Bitcoin lost %80 of its value after the GoX crash in late 2013. People panic sold their coins in despair. The price fell from over 1k$ to as low as 200$ in time. The recovery took very long time but those who hold their coins won the jackpot. Even the top buyers made at east %100 profits since then.

Can bitcoin lose its value? Yes. Only for a time.

In the long run, there will be a recovery as always.

The Solution: If you won't be able to deal with the pain of holding bitcoins for long years, only hold the amount you can afford to lose.
Exactly. Anything is possible especially if the system is manipulated (you know what I mean). So as big bitcoin is today, it can also be worth nothing through time. But of course, the possibility of it happening soon is not quite feasible at the moment.

It is said that bitcoin is very volatile, so incase of a scenario that bitcoin would lose its value is far from reality or atleast 30% in time that it would happen beacause there are lot of people that are investing on this currency  and this people play a big role in keeping bitcoin to grow.

Yes it is possible not only for bitcoin the whole crypto market has a chance to lose it's value except few who's price is always stable. The reason for this how much interest people have in a particular coin and how are the developers of the coin working and giving updates. In case of bitcoin it only depends on demand

It is possible if people would start to leave or stop supporting it. But looking at the statistics it would probably stick for a while.

Right at this moment it is impossible for bitcoin to lose its value you know why because more and more people believes that bitcoin would still succeed and more investors right now are interested to invest in bitcoin because of the high value price and the profit an investor could get in long term investment. I think it would take years or decades before bitcoin would lose its value unless the people would support other coins and left out bitcoin.
If we are talking about a reduction in the price of a bitcoin in future, then I think there can be a downfall or maybe it never happens. Nobody can tell the future with absolute conformance. So far, bitcoin has not lost its value rather the opposite is happening.

Not only its price is increasing but the number of his admirers has also increased over the past few months and I think, things will stay this way for long now.

I think Bitcoin of today is different from Bitcoin of the past. Bitcoin, today, is much more distributed throughout the world and have a stronger market support. Though it is possible to happen but the probability is too low.

In bitcoin, nothing is impossible. Yes its possible, it depends on the user if the bitcoin lose it's value. In everything that you do? You should know your limitations and know the real value of a thing. Becquse if you abused or over used bitcoin? In the end you are the one who would suffer.
Bitcoin for now is stronger than before ,loosing its value is depends on the holder of itself you should know your limitations using your bitcoin to make it no value.Bitcoin for now is flactuating but in the end its has always has a great value that investors like so much in bitcoin. There is a downfall but imeddiately it will be recovered always.

We can never have a stable price in bitcoin, the price is determined by the damand for bitcoin in the trading market. When there is high demand you will see the price of bitcoin increasing and also when the demand is low we expect fall in price, like in August the price of bitcoin was high but few weeks back we witness a little down fall in the price of bitcoin.
So it is the market that determine the price and it is bitcoin acceptability in more places that determine the market demand, the fall of bitcoin or it rise depends on us how informed we are and how ready we are to educate others about bitcoin.

Well based on the current value of bitcoin now it is impossible to loose its value it would take decades before it would loose the value. The value depends on how investors invest in bitcoin if they do not have confidence in bitcoin anymore maybe that will the time would decrease its value gradually.

Indeed it's now difficult to say that bitcoin will loose the value anytime. The process will be slow and will take decades. But what are the odds of happening that? I think it's next to zero because investors of bitcoin won't go off the chart immediately and lead to discrimination of crypto world. There will always be investors no matter what how many pull back from it, there will be always new investors coming again and again and at least in the want of money they are not going anywhere. This is keeping all the balance of market cap and that's why the gained value by bitcoin. May be it won't happen and if it happens then it will take very very long time before anyone could even think of that happening.

Throughout history, people have been hard at finding something that holds value on its own. Think gold. Now consider diamonds, for which DeBeers created artificial scarcity and endless marketing to make it worth something. Once the perception of something valuable sets in, there is no way you could displace it. Yes, Bitcoin will slowly replace gold as the primary store of independent value, but that doesn't mean gold will become worthless. It would just become a secondary store of value to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has passed through the initial stages of doubt and uncertainty. As of now in 2017, there is an entire industry being spawned on top of this technology. There is no way in hell something like this would lose its entire value. Yes, its a highly volatile asset, but every time it bounces back. Bitcoin is here to stay with us for the foreseeable future.

I think not lose the value but decrease the value. Because of bitcoin nature of volatility it is normal that every now and then the value will decrease and increase back depends on the demand and supply, but the important is if it increases back the value multiplies. So what i learned is not to panic right a away and hodl.

Anything can happen to the Bitcoin as investors we have to be careful with the market because Bitcoin market is completely involved with Big whales they can easily manipulate the price of Bitcoin within minutes.

Looking at the current growth of bitcoin, there is no possibility for a loss in value rather than growth. Fluctuations happen in between when some issue arise or due to the banning coming into effect from countries that have already supporting bitcoin. It's good to invest, profit comes behind.

Bitcoin relies on people who are supporting it, as long as we are here the value has no where to go but up, let's think positive and don't be fooled by FUD as that is only design to make the whales make easy money. We have seen the trend of bitcoin, when there is a dump, the pump will follow so if we have invested more at dip we can easily make money in short term.

Indeed, we need to be more careful in bitcoin market and do not be fooled by the FUDs or the bad news that will always appear online since it is just a strategy of the whales to play the market and make money. The best thing to do when there is a FUD or negative news is to be ready for the dips and buy at the dips and continue holding for a better outcome of profits.

Bitcoin can lose its value like any other investment asset, so you need to store your money in different cells. Although now there is no panic for bitcoin to collapse.

Do not believe about the potential, which is essential these days. We do not know how lengthy the bitcoin will reside. Bitcoin only grows and becomes well-liked every single day so we can only count on growth from it.

Well Bitcoin is unpredictable so it is tough for us to foresight on what will happen in the future. And yes bitcoin could lose its value anytime so we must make some countermeasures like we could buy an altcoin as alternative from bitcoin. However, if it will gonna happen we shouldn't panic because panicking isn't goog idea.
