My coins are months old but are not staking.
Is that 8 hours the time wallet should be kept online before staking starts?

You need to keep your wallet online and unlocked to be staking, you can run the command getstakinginfo in the Console (Help -> Debug Window -> Console) to see if staking = true and to see if it is enabled.

Nope, no masternodes, Denarius does have Proof of Stake though.

Masternodes is just a hype to get people to buy that coin and to help bring the price up. We don't need that here as Denarius has been doing very well without any hype what so ever. The dev is going long at a nice steady pace with no hype which is what attracted me to this coin and is what I really like about Denarius. As a lot of dev's out there promise this and promise that but hardly any deliver so I hope the dev does not implement masternodes as the coin is doing just fine as it is. As long as the dev keeps the developments coming.

Well mining DNR has got too difficult for me because I use a older version GPU, it was great fun mining this coin while I could so now I'll just stake the coins I have mined and have bought. I will continue to buy more DNR each week to build on my stack and to also increase my staking weight as the network continues to grow. I'll be holding DNR for the long term.

DNR has been holding stable it seems, around about $0.50 give or take for awhile now...

The premine is not large anymore by any means, I only hold 400k now and there is already around 1m DNR in circulation currently, so its less than half of what is available now.

DNR does have a lot of potential, I will continue to do fixes and add features to Denarius like I have been, Multi-Signature support was added in the last update (v1.0.6.0), which was pretty major.
