MacMiner 1.2.1 crashes on launch.

Mini specs: Core i5 2.3GHz, 8GB RAM, 10.8.3

I've released a minor 1.2.2 update with some improvements in the app which I'm hoping will address these issues. Can someone who tested 1.2.1 and had it crash let me know whether this version fixes the issue for you?

NB It should still work at the command line as described in the first post if the app is crashing on you so you can at least use the install of bfgminer and cpuminer

I've finally identified and removed the cause of the crash on start bug which was affecting all users who hadn't already gone through auto-config. Very sorry about that! Now that the app is contained I can keep a free VM for testing it from now on without having to keep reinstalling them so testing will be more thorough from here on.

1.3 just released should be a stable version and the 1.3 branch will only get bug fixes, when new features are introduced they will be in 1.4 beta version until I get a few confirmations from the wild that it's working OK.

could someone post some typical macminer 1.3 advanced settings when using a block erupter?

i started with the default settings, 2 minutes in the poor thing felt like it was going to burst into flames

turned the dynamic intensity off and set intensity to 1. the MH display seems to jumping around from ~200 to 800

...is working, Mh/s fluctuates a lot though.  Should be around 33o for the one Block Eruptor I'm running.  Is between ~46-576.

I use the default settings
I = 2
dynamic intensity (checked), nothing else checked
Disable GPU mining checked
work size = 128
vectors = 1

I haven't tried it any other way.  My pool has it clocked at ~240 Mh/s after a couple mins.

edit:  I put the intensity = 20, no change, pool now says 383 Mh

Looking good here Anonymailer, tried in on a selection of iMacs, Minis & MBP's - all seem stable

Cool I'm glad the stable version is stable! Thanks for the reports!

As far as I'm aware there are no custom settings for most ASIC/FPGA - for instance the BFL FPGA required a firmware flash to change the settings.

The fluctuation sounds a little like it's overheating and self-regulating? Does anyone else with a Block Erupter have input on how stable the MH is?

Do you have a fan pointed at yours and what's the room temp?

Hey, 1.3 was working for you, I need to hide that output unless it's on debug mode - it changed because I started compiling bfgminer with the text user interface intact for people who want to run it at the command line and it outputs debug output if you disable the TUI which I need to to run it through the app. It wasn't working properly when it was outputting stuff like this in blocks:

the stratum debug messages are really bfgminer identifying the type of stratum it's using (there are a few definitions)

the config file takes a second to write, I really need to write in a check it's done before it closes. Can you check what it says in advanced options for bfgminer - edit config manually please?
