oooh ignore me I totally spaced, too many browser tabs, not enough time! The version I compiled above was

https://github.com/ig0tik3d/darkcoin-cpuminer-1.2c

Yup, that one should be fine for all Macs. It's 1.3 that's only on certain newer CPUs.

Did you get a shot at mining with it?

Im using it. With X11 on a Xeon W3520 Mac Pro Im getting 17.2 kh/sec per core from 7 cores while using the latest ccminer on my GPU. 8 cores runs at about 15.5 kh/sec.

Thanks~!

edit- by cores I mean threads.

Got the X11 cpuminers running this weekend on two Mac Minis (one with an i5 and another with old core2duo) and they're pointed to the Java based Stratum Proxy from different locations (so I can control failover pools/usernames from one point no matter how many cpuminers I add... much better than the old python based stratum proxy with support for various algos: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=611338.msg6762617#msg6762617).

Looks to be working well so far.

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the reports! I'll be able to include X11 in the next MacMiner update now Smiley

Nice info on getting higher speed per thread with one thread unused, I wonder whether that's the effect of system usage or thermal based throttling…

Why are all these proxies written in Mac-unfriendly language :/ I don't have Java installed anymore!

MacMiner updated to support X11 CPU mining, and updates bfgminer to 4.2

Sorry for the slow progress, I've been busy in general, then distracted by Swift, and now by KnC's abysmal customer support!

Sorry to hear that about KnC..I have been getting good customer support from a sorse you suggested to me …minersourse.net and I have been dealing with GAWminers with some pretty good customer service as well ..(once they got to my problems)

Anyone got strong opinions on the future of Scrypt? I don't know what to think about all these ASICs hitting the scene…

Anyway, last beta release for this version:

v1.5.21b3
Updates bfgminer to version 4.3
bfgminer adds zeusminer support
Adds support for X11/DarkCoin CPU mining
cpuminer for VTC has been recompiled
pooler cpuminer updated to 2.4
please do not enter a blank password for your pool, or MacMiner will crash on relaunch. This will be fixed in the next stable release.

Didn't want to rush a stable version, but that's what's coming next.

Got my Gaw miner USB working on my MacMini using GPU window. It's pulling 0.75 mHs which is a bit low. Anyone know of any flag settings to get the rate up?

Mac Mini, Mavericks, Mac Miner v1.5.21b3, Gaw Miner Fury 1.3mHs

I read they don't over clock so well, but this is what you need:

--set zus:clock=340

328 is default

Testers wanted for this pre release version
http://downloads.fabulouspanda.co.uk/MacMiner.app-1.5.21b3.1.zip

Just updates bfgminer and cgminer to the latest versions, but I've been having some problems with an exception in Xcode… It doesn't seem to affect the end product but please let me know!

in the first post you wrote that you support miners ...
why not to give links to these miners? It is difficult to find a miner for mac os which is not for sha256 and scrypt only.

You mean you want me to link to the github pages for the miners MacMiner uses that use other algorithms? I guess I should have kept track of them! Will do from now on.

Hi everyone, thanks for your support of MacMiner over the years! I have launched a little kickstarter to hopefully get things kick started around here again, unfortunately my bank account (and bitcoin wallet) are indicating it's time to start cancelling a couple of the servers I use for this project - specifically the pool, downloads and forum, although a forum will be consolidated back in to the main site's server.

MacMiner isn't going anywhere whether this kickstarter is successful or not! But it would let me spend some much needed time updating the app, as right now paid jobs are a massive priority for me.

Check it out here

Sadly, pool.fabulouspanda.co.uk will go offline sometime in about 2 days, at the end of a billing period, I'd hoped to keep it going another month but it's not possible! Much apology for the short notice to those of you still hashing away there Sad

Well thank you to the 5 supporters of the kickstarter! The goal wasn't reached but the silver lining is that I'm now doing support contracts for anything Bitcoin/crypto/Mac/web related so get in touch if you'd like someone in the know to help out on a regular basis.

MacMiner has had a minor update so bfgminer is 4.10 and misc fixes but...

Please give me feedback if anything doesn't work or there's a minor change/fix of significance that requires my attention - I haven't been testing outside my environment so this is chiefly with regards to updated backends (I personally am only using the API Output window these days). If you can't support development financially, please give me a hand with testing/reporting problems Smiley
