Afraid of August One?

Well hope to see some good improvements also the outcome in Bitcoin if SegWit has been activated in august 1. If anything Good or Bad will happens. I will still love to use bitcoins.

No thanks, I'd rather want to have bitcoin this way than to test if this SegWit activation would improve bitcoin or whatsoever. Bitcoin is perfectly fine the way it is right now, that is why there is no need for this SegWit thingy. I'm still confused about this splitting of bitcoin and so on,  let's just pray that thing would never happen because I'm sure that the first one that would be affected by this is the bitcoin price.

Me myself right now i dont feel afraid of august 1 or what  bad shit or good shit will happen in that day of forking and segwit,all i need to be is stay calm and earn and earn and dont mine the risk of that even,we all dont know what will happen so we need to wait and hope for the best

I have high hopes for bitcoin after this date the implementations will make btc able to compete with new generation cryptocurrencies that have faster tx confirmation times with its improved features and should quickly see a bullish bitcoin and break the current resistance...I honestly think there is nothing to be afraid of and bitcoin is still in good hands

I will not get my hopes up for the mean time but I am seeing news that the impending August 1 will be the date for bitcoin freedom over high fees and an over price downfall because it will certainly double in value on the said date, but I am not 100% so sure because there are still a risk involve in that said event.

Why should i afraid when it is a step towards bitcoins ultimate success? For those who doesn't know about August 1, there would be a split. And it is where the transaction of bitcoin will become faster onto your wallet. But you should know that there would be a hige dump of bitcoin. Not to fud but I think it will be 500 usd.

For a third day straight bitcoin price is going down. The downward slope is very obvious and it might continue to go down up to the close of August 1. A lot of people are in the sideline just watching and some are selling already. Lets see in the next two days if the downward trend will continue.

People are just taking profits. Plus some people are rotating into either fiat or alts, just in case the Aug 1st thing doesn't go smoothly. Of course if it does go smoothly, watch for a jump in price afterwards.

It's difficult to predict which way things will go on August 1st, but just due to some people reducing their exposure before the actual event, I'd expect the Bitcoin price to be a bit lower leading up to it.

No one knows what will happen to bitcoin that day. Perhaps we are fearing, it is not fear, but fear of losing something inherent in our lives.How Bitcoin evolves depends on that day.

Maybe August 1st will be the biggest development of bitcoin, bitcoin will be recognized and developed in the world and grown up we should be happy about that. What people always expect it to come, because it will bring us great advantages

Activating segwit is going to be one of the biggest developments when it comes to bitcoin, it will help the network immensely by increasing the speed and reducing the costs of getting our transactions to be confirmed, this is key if bitcoin is to become a payment system used by hundreds of millions or even billions of people, it is the first step but it is a step on the right direction.

true but one counter argument is that segwit is simply a band aid to a much larger problem, and when the bitcoin network outgrows the extra space provided by segwit we will be back to where we are now with the sometimes incredibly long confirmation times and high fees. we need to find a better long term solution also

I am afraid I will accept it but I will not sell my funds because I have my full trust in bitcoin but the thinking of you will lose some or big will not be remove from your mind so in my self I will not sell my coins and let's see what will happen after the segwit If that is successful then I will gain more profit if fail then I will lose some, But as you see the litecoin succeed with that so why bitcoin is not? so let's gamble with it.

Of course many are afraid of August 1 but not all bitcoiners are. You said it yourself what will happen if the decision is bad and in addition to that, bitcoin might be dethroned because people might try to find another coin that is better than bitcoin but still it would still have a price. When it got good and transactions really became faster, for sure it will rise in price so it is a normal risk that everyone takes.

If BIP148 is gonna happen. According to this article, (link:  https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/countdown-segwit-these-are-dates-keep-eye/) segwit2x will activate segwit first in July 25 though BIP 91 minimizing the risk of chain split if they follow the agreement in New York thus, BIP 148 will not activate. and since more than 80% of the hash rate are in support on segwit2x although intentional the real signalling is July 21. it seems that miners is in support of segwit after all.

Well that's your decision and no one can stop you from having that idea, but you're believing of a certain conditions that will bring negative effect for us. I tell it won't be doing as bad when that day comes, and as a reminder about your holdings, maybe you will do panic buying in the future whwn btc rises so fast after August one. Nothing to be afraid of and everybody should be staying strong despite of the unpredictable situation of bitcoin, stay focus and don't lose hope.
