Afraid of August One?

My thoughts is that segwit will suceed and no splitting fork will happen. There is too much bitcoin at stake for that to happen. However, the panic spreaded by some people is making me doubt a bit.

Depending on what the situation is when approaching the activation, I will decide to put my bitcoin offline or not.

Yes I've read that there is a higher votes on segwit (soft fork) but we don't know what will really happen on August 1 that made a lot of people to panic because of the spreading humors.

Whatever happens Bitcoins will still continue to grow all we need is to think positive and believe on Bitcoin potential.

No doubt that majority of us wants to see something good with bitcoin and this is also the reason why soft fork and hard fork is being seen as the solution to all of our current issues with bitcoin. With this implementation bitcoin price will surely rise up and break out. The problem is what if things goes wrong during implementation and what if bitcoin blockchain will stop working and will go down because of "something" which we dont know yet. what is you tried to check on your bitcoin balance and nothing is showing up or nothing is loading? what will you do?

We are still at the bubble and panic for August 1 so definitely price will.go down due to massive selling.

The highest % of the outcome is that this is all a big fat bluff, just like xt, classic, and unlimited were. The actors at play know the consequences of a hardfork, and ASSUMING that the actors at play are not enemies of bitcoin but have another view about how to scale, will come to terms and accept the reality of things here: The network is not at full capacity, and it was a fucking spam attack by Roger again, we don't need a contentious hardfork that would ruin the project.

If they still go through they unmask themselves as enemies of bitcoin.

While I will like for the fork to not happen at all, I’m not so sure it is not going to happen, the miners seems to be set on controlling the network, so they may go for it and fork bitcoin, it may seem crazy for many of us, but if they think they are bitcoin then there is a real risk they will do it.

If bitcoin community will unite then problem wont exist anymore for we are the owner of this blockchain and not the government. We are the one who gives value to this.  Lots of people observing outside the community is saying that bitcoin dont have value that is supported by central bank. They keep comparing it to gold or stocks. what they dont see is bitcoin is different that is why they are having some difficulty understanding it. But compared to us we know what bitcoin is and how it works and we see its future.

I just bought another round of bitcoin for my storage and will continue to do it

I really don't get why people are afraid of August 1 when in fact it should be an advantage to everyone who owns BTC, some may panic because of the possible split that will happen but I would suggest to hold on to their bitcoins.

I'm not afraid on August 1, because I think that this is another panic to reduce the cost of bitcoin. Someone wants to buy coins at a cheap price in order to earn even more money and spread panic.

Split is just one thing but no one knows if everything will go as planned. what is they break the code and all of a sudden eveything stop.

If they screw up you have Ethereum becoming number 1. I am expecting everything will go fine. There is a lot of market speculation surround 1 Aug. But if the result is positive we just go up again towards a higher market cap in 2018.

We can't blame if people are afraid of what's possible to happen on August 1. Even me at first was being brought by those people who are spreading fear that bitcoin is going to be dumped. But I was thinking that there are countries now that are accepting bitcoin, maybe they are telling it so that people will be forced to sell and whales will buy at dip.

After the August 1 the huge pump for bitcoin is going to happen many people are selling now because they are not aware of what is going to happen they taught that is bad news because of the fake articles and news that is circulating the web but the truth is this is gonna be a good one.

Ethereum will never become number one, even if Bitcoin hardforks and it crashes, Ethereum has to hardfork again into the PoS, so it has big problems ahead. Nobody will go to Ethereum as a safe haven from Bitcoin. Not even Litecoin is safe, I mean Litecoin is more centralized than Bitcoin.

There are no second chances, Bitcoin has to NOT hardfork or the entire cryptothing fails. No other chance at a crypto store of value, only one opportunity and it's called Bitcoin, so it CAN'T and will NOT hardfork.

It would probably go with a hard fall that time.
But anyway, bitcoin would still not continuosly drop just because of that.
and if it does it will just come back soon up.

That's how the market has always worked though.

Let's see from aug 1 until mid november what happens.
Seems pretty exciting..
But I believe it will have a positive outcome.

Everyone look at bitcoin according to their own thinking you are right that we cannot blame people if they are not ready to accept the reality of bitcoin price that it s increasing per day , if people are afraid of its price will drop down at august one they should look at its new price first.

Bitcoin needs a change.
This is what technogical advancements are all about.
If you deny in doing this then you deny wanting something better to arise.
Now if that is not to be with bitcoin but it's predecessor then so be it.
Just as long as it improves upon what it has not.

I don’t agree with you unfortunately. I don’t think so any changes are required. Bitcoins are already doing great are appreciated just because of their unique features like decentralization, anonymity etc which all other currencies are lacking on.

I strongly agree, if we are afraid we have discarded the feeling of calm. Unnecessary work. Always think positive is better.

We are already in July and August 1 is coming...the day when Segwit would start signalling for all and what will happen after this date is something many fear of. Will there be a split and what will happen on the split?

I have already read some assurance that at the current rate things are doing, the possibility for a split is getting remote. Maybe the overarching interest of all stakeholders has already dawned to many.

To be honest, I really don't know what I'm feeling right now because there are just two outcome. It either go up or go down. Maybe a few  are scared when that day arrives but no matter what happens I have faith in bitcoin and I know everything will still be fine.
