Afraid of August One?

I am a bit worried for august because if something wrong bitcoin reputation could be tainted and people will afraid to invest in bitcoin anymore, and there are so many people already prepare to using another coin, but I still believe bitcoin will do well hopefully after august the price will be stable and the investors trusts will be increase and bitcoin become stronger

I don't think there's any need to worry about. Bitcoin is still in it's infancy and all these changes being made to it will only further it's growth and make it better. This is all being done to improve the bitcoin and to bring out the best in it. All we need is to stay positive and don't panic or create an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. Bitcoin has already survived such things before and it will survive this one too.

Yes, bitcoin has faced a lot of difficulties before. It will face 1st August as well. But we should never lose hope and never leave bitcoin. We should invest and keep investing in bitcoin because bitcoin always arise after facing difficulties.

This is normal evolution process so this has to happen was is on 1st of August or in some time in future. For the price im not that worry cuz think we will see bubble but not on this 1st August maybe days or weeks after this when most forgot that this segwit happen.

some people fear and some people also don't but i personally slightly fear but still didn't panic and in my view after through august 1 there is two possibility that the first one is we will see more demand for bitcoin and the price will so high and the second one is the worst situations that we will see massive panic selling and the price will dropped faster

We are already in July and August 1 is coming...the day when Segwit would start signalling for all and what will happen after this date is something many fear of. Will there be a split and what will happen on the split?

I have already read some assurance that at the current rate things are doing, the possibility for a split is getting remote. Maybe the overarching interest of all stakeholders has already dawned to many.

Bitcoin. Is not some alt that a decision like this can just bring an end to just like that. Whether you are against segwit or not and its finally happening, then everyone will be affected whether to the positive or the negative and the most important thing is that, the majority will be the deciding factor of which direction the price will swings towards. In otherwords, I am not afraid of what will happen on August 1 or beyond because whatever will happen, I won't be the only one and no matter the tension exercised now, it can't change that August 1 from coming into play.

People are always dramatic when it comes to changes, in the case of the bitcoin we have witnessed some and nothing bad have happend, and i really think that August 1st will like any other day, the prices may jump a bit but that could happen at any momnet, that is the cryptocurency world.

I think august 1 is being hyped big. Hope at least something good happens for what the speculators have been hyping for a long. In the past to several such expectations were outlawed and the growth took place at an unexpected time frame.

I think we should not be afraid of that date or any other date which may be connected with BTC.Through the time BTC exists there were a lot of big challenges,and I think there will be even more in the time to come.

BTC is as strong as the community behind it,so we should think positive and not spread negative thinking like many are doing.It is important to have full control of your coins in case of chain split,so move your coins to some desktop/hardware wallet just to be safe.

Yes that is when is the right time to buy bitcoins when the price dumps because of the panic sell then do not join the panic selling and just buy at the dips so you can get a lot of bitcoins that is very cheap compare from the price right now. Patience is a virtue in both buying and selling so we don't need to rush things because if it is really for us, it will come to us.

If there is a split of LeftFork or RightFork then so be it if it is to end the dilemma of transaction fee and speed sending payments. We are in the fast phase of revolution of crypto currencies and we must embrace changes for as long as it is good and for future help to everyone.

And this thing is inevitable because we are in a brink of going to the moon with bitcoin so in able to that we must retool our machine to take us to that destination. Split is a split and when it happens as long as it has a value just like what happen to ETH and ETH Classic then we are all good because we can still trade that no matter what, hope for the best to happen people and don't be so negative, peace out.

Agree! People loves to make little things big deal or troll around targeting newbies who will panic sell right away. Even if bitcoin price will drop it will bounce back so why worry so much when you have all the time to wait until the price will go fly to the moon.

I am not afraid of it at all. Even if the price of Bitcoin goes down due to a panic dump then the price would only drop temporarily. That is why it would be a good idea to have a little extra money on the side just incase the price goes down so more coins can be purchased.

Obviously this coming August 1, there are only 2 possible scenarios that will happen: whether the price of bitcoins will increase or decrease. That is why I speculate that since people are expecting something to happen on August 1, there is the possibility of them selling their bitcoins at a lower price. Because again of their nervousness, that is the best time to invest and buy bitcoins since the price will decrease from then. After that, just wait for another month or two then the price of bitcoins will be around ~$3000 or more.

I do not deny that I was a bit worried of what will happen this August 1, 2017. And so i divide my bitcoin in half , half of it I kept in my wallet while the other half I converted it to dollars. But this is already August 1, 2017 and my worries was for nothing. Nothing happened the price of bitcoin stayed the same and it did not pump or dump. But it is still unclear since possibly the results of today will be felt tomorrow and so I did not regret the decision that I made. I wish that bitcoin will not split and will continue increase in value and I do hope that it will reached 10k dollars in just a few time, probably 3 years from now. I hope it could happen sooner or later and it will come true.

Where you have information that half the people in the world use bitcoin? It is a fake. Actually a very small percentage of people know about the existence of bitcoin, and every day use at all units. I think you are wishful thinking.

Well, I'm not afraid of it but rather it is the opposite because I am glad that it will happen not only that the speculation of bitcoin will rise but also the speculation or maybe the real that there is a good change in the blockchain transaction. I like the idea that it will be separated into two forks and what I'm gonna support is the hard fork because I think it is the good one and it's really have some advantage rather than the soft fork.
