Afraid of August One?

I believe we are going to see the next rally after August and it will push bitcoin beyond $3K and in next year we will see the prices floating around $3.5K. I see this as a very positive thing and right now I think it is a good opportunity for entering in the bitcoin for the investments which are planned for next 5 to 10 years. Yes, we might face much volatility in the price in next few months but as I said, this price level is good for the long term investment.

There are multiple individuals and even the companies out there who are willing to enter in the bitcoin but they are worried about transaction time, transaction fees and price volatility. If we can somehow control, at least two things then I am damn sure that we will see at least 30% to 50% growth in the user base and indirectly the price. I was expecting it at the end of this year but I am happy that we will have new high before the commencement of the next year.

Many people here needs knowledge on the impending event, and they are all clueless of what is about to happen, yes the transaction of bitcoin will be faster with the implementation of segwit 2x that is but does it really necessarily to have a split or a value drop for bitcoin? and I really think people have equal assessment regarding the said event, let's just wait what will really happen with the price!

We are hoping that would never happen because all of us were affected on it, i am praying that i wont happen and we have peace on the bitcoin community. If they screw up you have Ethereum becoming number 1. I am expecting everything will go fine. There is a lot of market speculation surround 1 Aug. But if the result is positive we just go up again towards a higher market cap in 2018.

If something goes wrong then ETH could become number one but if things don’t have a way to go back to normal then I think Litecoin will eventually become number one, since it is basically bitcoin with segwit already activated and none of the drama at least at the moment.

Not in a short time. Too many ICOs dumped the ethereum to the market. Those bringing the truth that the ethereum couldn't become the number one as per bitcoin gets failed. If the segwit already successfully activated in bitcoin and litecoin become worthless and many people back to the bitcoin.

Litecoin will never become worthless, Litecoin is doing a good job, that is why while bitcoin is know as the gold of cryptocurrencies litecoin is known as the silver, so I think my observation makes sense, if something happened to bitcoin then Litecoin will become the new gold standard, the question is who is going to become the new silver.

Im on the decision of taking profit right now and convert my btc into fiat because i am really afraid of august 1, but after reading all the post here i am convince that many people here are being optimistic and see bitcoin will surely rise after the said downfall, and now i realized that the bip148 will surely helps us to make the fees low and for a faster transaction.

I agree, because everyone is almost optimistic about rising bitcoin prices but we must be ready for it

Okay! Anyway if we are still question it or what was their reason I think they implement it whether we like it or not. That's why they are made announcement just to warned the holders and from this time it is always what they are talking for. I think there was a big impact in btc price if these segwit really implemented. Hope there is a sharp price increase after this segwit.

i am not afraid with august one because i think no need to worried about anything. all we can do is waiting the result and we can still trading with other coins if we are afraid to trade bitcoin pair usdt. we don't need to listen about many rumors in out there about what will happen with bitcoin if bitcoin is split, we need to be calm and waiting for august one.

Bitcoin has gone through many problems in the past also. I believe Bitcoin is now robust enough to survive and grow a little more from here. There are competitors but Bitcoin is getting enough attention now from all walks of life. I think it will survive, but there will be some volatility ahead maybe for a while until the dust settles.

I also consider the past of bitcoin where the changes is always necessary particularly to problems. And in fact for bitcoin to develop and achieve more progress on its transaction, price or security it must have a move where it should have balanced stock on the market where neutral scale is needed. So the in coming dump in terms of bitcoin price on August first as people speculate, it is quite normal and it is an obvious help for bitcoin system. So its better to get settled and ready for its.

The concept is to update but since two groups wants to have a good position for the update so they are pushing two difference agenda.  Thinks will not workout if both of them wont compromise.  There should only be one bitcoin and should not split otherwise we will all end up loosing.

The miner dont want to loose their investment in equipment that is why they just want to just increase the block size to speed up the process. While the developer wants to take out from the miners some of the work and give it to another company who is using a Lightning Network to handle some of the processing which can be taken out of the blockchain.  This will also speed up the process but the miners work will be reduced.

So which one should happen and who is correct and in the right position? This will affect bitcoin definitely whatever happen.

Nothing will happen. In the end, nobody wants to lose their investment in bitcoin. If bitcoin will split all lose their money. I'm not going to sell their coins and believe that after 1 August we will see an updated bitcoin and the price of coins will continue to grow.

We are already in July and August 1 is coming...the day when Segwit would start signalling for all and what will happen after this date is something many fear of. Will there be a split and what will happen on the split?

I have already read some assurance that at the current rate things are doing, the possibility for a split is getting remote. Maybe the overarching interest of all stakeholders has already dawned to many.

This is very simple thing , you should think that lot of amount of the Bitcoin are hold by the owner of the Bitcoin , so what will happ if the network of the blockchain will face problem , I mean we don't need to worry much about this , and instead of this some preacuation should be taken by us .
1) Before 1 August transfer your all Bitcoin at the blockchain wallet .
2) If you have Bitcoin then transfer only Bitcoin to your address of blockchain also  .
3) don't make transaction like things from any of the Bitcoin wallet .
4) Make backup of your wallet of the blockchain before the 1 August  .
If you will do these things , then I don't think that you need to worry anything ways , because you are in official ways and platform and nothing is problem in the official wallets

Of course there is a big panic among the users regarding the august one. Though people haven't thought of it in such a extreme manner. Now theymos too have given some notification to the users to be on the safe side with limiting the transactions during days close to august one.
