There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

thank you very much for a handy resource. i use it every day and find it extremely handy. though i have suggestion. right now when selecting a graph to see more about coin charts we can only see prices in selected coin against dollar. this is not very helpful as alt coins act as a buffer to main btc price in dollars. is it possible to make a coin/btc along with coin/usd buttons for a better indication of buy/sell for those not tied with fiat-dealing exchanges?

How often is the data updated? LOT price on CMC is $ 0.00013 (actual price yesterday was $ 0.00000013) but on coinedup its $ 0.00000027 today I would like to know this aswell. Could be a bit misleading for potential investors. you are reading the units wrong. $0.00013 is the LOT/USD ratio, that's what CMC lists. 0.00000027 is the LOT/BTC ratio, which is what CoinedUp offers on their exchange. to make the conversion take price of BTC in USD * price of LOT in BTC. If you actually click on the price/unit on the main page it takes you to a table for that currency where it shows which ratio it is taking into account to show the market cap. That data was wrong anyhow. Now it looks to be sorted out, so no need to worry anymore. Cheers though!

Can we have a 250k or 500k market cap minimum requirement as entry to coinmarketcap or some other similar filter method (ones already listed can stay). Seriously don't want to see 100+ new useless coins added, and then 3 months from now there will be 1000... Need to draw the like in the sand now somehow.

How about we put the limit at 1 billion so only real coins are shown?

niothor, you should log out and never come back.
That doesn't sound like an evangelist to me , more like a sexcoin blindfolded zealot.

How is the 24hr volume calculated? I am seeing more than $50,000 in volume for Ripple https://ripplecharts.com/marketsBitstamp USD alone is doing almost the figure that coinmarketcap quotes let alone the BTC and Chinese markets... There are links (the USD prices) to the pages where these volume numbers come from. It might be useful to create something like "xrpaverage.com" that works similar to bitcoinaverage and combines numbers from more markets. Currently only XRP/BTC.Bitstamp numbers are used, with bitcoincharts as source. Yeah, I'm trying to find a way to grab the ripple volumes. I might just have to scrape Ripplecharts for the time being. I can't add anything from coinex because their API is behind DDOS protection and requires javascript to view (pretty much making it useless). I think they're working on fixing it? Can we have a 250k or 500k market cap minimum requirement as entry to coinmarketcap or some other similar filter method (ones already listed can stay). I'm thinking once we get to 100 coins, we'll have to make it top 100 or some threshold.

What will it take to get ProtoShares to show up reliably? No one else seems to have any problems keeping charts active.

What seems to be the issue with temporarily delisting DGC? Could it be related to Cryptsy's withdrawal issues? DGC Network is working perfectly... :-)

Is there an api exposed by coinmarketcap to get the different coin information?. If not is there a plan to expose one in the future? If not am I allowed to scrape your website? Thanks.
