I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.
What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?
I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.
If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.
It depends on what you mean and your time horizon. In the short term (less than 5 years) alt coins will struggle. The ones that survive will be the ones with the future. I think most of the ones that will be promising will be the company tokens that have a good business plan and actually make money and release their profits back to their investors. What's similar now is like the dot com boom when so many internet companies in 2000 were funded through venture capitalists and only a fraction of them survived. The BIG ones like Microsoft had to adapt... similarly Bitcoin is adapting... some new ones like Amazon started late and became huge... Ethereum reminds me of that. But it all takes a few years. Altcoin such as SONM do have a great future.
If you study the project, then you will get to know its true potential.
By August 2018 when its fully project is launched then its demand will be on peak.

It's easy to know what the future of an altcoins is and now you can see it right away. It depends on their road map and of course the people who support them. Today many do not succeed in ICO. Someone else is a scam and of course Altcoins they will abandon that they will be neglected in the market. So ultimately the altcoins will be shit coins and Fade to have progress.

Yes and one example is Ethereum. Most of other altcoins are only made for the opportunity to make profit but there are few that maybe it's unclear for now but one day it will explode just like the altcoin nem/xem.

Of course, I think the rapid development of technology then altcoin will become more familiar for the public. And then many are interested in altcoin. that way altcoin will be more developed in the future and will have a good future because more and more people are using altcoin.

Yes ,all altcoins have a future,even those a smallest value of altcoins have a future.just only wait the moment to make this coins bloom in the market.just like ethereum,menero litecoin etc. in first they start the small amount of value until the time more investor used it in trading,so now this kind of altcoins belong to the top ten highest coin in the world of digital currency. |

At the moment, the total market cap is $199 012 898 260 and the BTC Dominance is: 61.7%.
This means +- 39% for all the altcoins which is more than a third (1/3).
So yes, it seems people think alts have a future.

Not all of the altcoins have future, it's true, but many of altcoins now are used not only for money transfers, but for rendering video, buyng houses, making cloud based calculations.
So yes, many of altcoin have their future.

Of course they have future actually I believe in that altcoins is going to be future of crypto world. altcoins is sustain and you can continue easily because people will have new ideas for ICOs. We should chose best options for us  |

almost everyone who is active in this forum has a coin (bitcoin or altcoin) they certainly have good hope in the future for altcoin can be something that can be used as a real purpose |

There will be many blockchains in the future.
Having everything on one blockchain is not logical.
So bitcoin will exist, eth will exist, etc will exist, many more will exist.
Literally, you can have thousands private blockchains at the end.
Why? Specialization and economies of scale balance each other. Commoditized processes need scale, injovation and niche needs specialization.
Dcorp/iconomi/zencash/aeternity/wagerr/gnosis/sia/golem/crown etc. alm have a reason to exist.
Of course there many others coin is in market now. For these reason many alternative currency has not future but some special currency i,e bitcoin has a great future. |

If Altcoins solve real issues, then definitely they have a future. Looking at present altcoins, IMO, Ethereum will definitely be the front runner of Alts.

Only a few Altcoin will survive the rest will be forgotten, make money while you can. If a shitcoin go up, I just sell it to get more BTC
I only hold a few good altcoin like ETH, Syscoin, Lisk

Hmmm, alt coin has future, in fact presently it has started making a better response, although it may not bexall those alt related coin that will survive but the fact that bitcoin it shinning bright now does not mean the altcoin can't meet up. From my observation. There is a future for altcoin.
