Yes, you should go to college because not all of us can go to college. If you are capable of doing so, just do it. Finishing with degree holder can help you in the future. It can help you to get a job... even better than the ordinary. You can apply to your dream job someday with yor desired position. Going to college and finishing it, alao is an achievement. You can be proud of yourself brcause you go to college. But I really believe that the best teacher is the experience, going and finishing in college will help you easier and better to get the best what you can have in the future.

Going to an college has a huge benefit many people can't  realize.

You can find many smart people there.

If you enter a college and spend time with people who's smarter than you, even if you were a stupid/retarded/lazy person before, you tend to become smarter in time. That's the biggest benefit you could possibly have.

If you stay without a college degree your chances with meeting with smarter people are lower. Not impossible but lower.

Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

yes you should go to college. There are more opportunities when you are a degree holder.

Yeah i know that but Americans gaining a loan in college is big problem Sad Sad

I'm not lucky

I would advise against taking student loans given the current situation... if that means you don't go to college so be it... employers are more impressed with a good interview than a piece of paper anyway (personal experience)

Betsy Devos just erased 2 HUGE rules that Obama administration put in place to protect students

One of the things she removed was student loan forgiveness... There "was" a law stating if a person spent 10 years in a public service job, like a teacher, and paid their loans the entire 10 years... the rest would be forgiven (not much left after 10 years paying anyway)... but this is now gone... some people already spent the whole 10 years as a teacher and now get fucked

And, she's only been there for 2 months... more pro-bank anti-student legislation is coming

Do NOT get student loans... trust me on this, I have student loans from 10+ years ago... and they have been charging me more than twice the interest rate I agreed to... the government does not give a single fuck about you... do not trust them... they will change the rules AFTER you take the loans... and buttfuck you because there is NO WAY to get rid of student loan debt

If you want a good job, and save yourself 4 years of school... find a place you want to work, find a manager, talk to him/her... act like you REALLY want to work HERE... make them think this is your dream job... ask them what training you would need to prepare... spend a few months taking free online courses, then go back and get your job

And there's a possibility of finding future business partners there.
Many people have met friends in college and some of them started developing projects together that became successful and brought them a lot of money. Sitting at home won't get you anywhere, just as going to the shittiest job and earning minimum wage.

You better be enrolling yourself to a college. Remember that you have a bright future when you have a bachelors degree. Well others will say what about Bill Gates and any other successful person in the world that didn't go to college. To be real, Please wake up! You can only use their stories as your inspiration to succeed. A college degree is a key for better opportunity, especially when looking for work.

Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

What other advise are you looking for again? You expect people here to tell you not to go to college even the ones that didn't go and still live comfortable will advise that you put your ass back in school not to talk of those who even went to med school, law school even the university. Go there and add to the knowledge you have and maybe one day you sit on Goldman Sachs board and make those decisions even for government.

You should go to college, because it is better to have a degree. Many people wants to achieve there dream thus same goes for you. Finish your studies get your diploma and degree then work.

Even tho you earn income here in bitcoin you must still study because It is a pride that you finished studying and holding a degree.

College is a scam to turn you into an indentured servant... don't fall for it

Education is free on the internet... check out MIT opencourseware
https://ocw.mit.edu/index.htm
https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/?utm_source=ocw-megamenu&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=mclstudy

Employers don't care about a piece of paper, and they know most people forget 90% of what they learned in college anyway... they care about whether you show up on time, and can do what you are told

Unless you are trying to be a lawyer, doctor or nurse... which require certifications and such... you don't need a degree, just educate yourself on the specifics of what you need for the job you want... skip all the BS classes like math, english, world history, etc... nobody cares about that, they only care about core classes, like physics, engineering, etc

If you want to be a website developer... learn how to code... you don't need a degree and nobody hiring coders gives a single fuck if you have a degree or not... it's all about whether you can write code (and they know many people with a degree can't code for shit anyway)

Fam, for me i'd advice that you must finish your study in college. I dont know how to difficult to enter in college in US but you must still   aim for having a degree. Don't give up on it. Graduating is one of the achievements in our life and also this is a gift for our parents who work their ass off to feed us.

Go to college, as long as you can learn how to do it, you are lucky because of your problem is just that whether you are studying or not, while others like to study but do not have the courage to do it ,
So do it for yourself, and for your future.

At least in my country, there is no other option. College education is a necessity nowadays. Even if you are planning to do some business or setting up your own venture, without a college degree it will be very hard to succeed.

Got my undergrad at Cal Poly Pomona in CIS. Worked for 5 years, took the GMAT.

Now at University of Michigan - Ross School of Business, half way through the MBA program.

My advice...The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

I always think I knew enough until I took that next class.

Just finished a Data Mining class. Changed my whole outlook on machine learning and regression modeling. That class led me to create a custom scripted chart indicator for an Algo cryptocurrency trading bot.

Finance recently helped me calculate ATCF (after tax cash flow) using a 5 period Commercial Real Estate type Pro Forma analysis to determine the true valuation of a cryptocurrency mining operation. Should it be leveraged? How much leverage? Little more advanced than break-even days.

So, yeah. College may help you understand and apply more complex topics than you would have otherwise never cared to think about.

nowadays you probably need one if your goal is to work for other people and earn a decent salary, i didnt get an education and it took me until age 30 to get anywhere in life

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

Gaining a college degree will not only help with a good job but also it will help when it comes to getting a very good salary as well, but it all depends on the what you want to do.

As per my experience, getting a college degree will really help you get a high paying job in your local country and specially abroad. Although not all college graduate lands a decent job because they are underemployed and every year thousand are graduating so the competition of getting a job get higher. But if your grades are good enough then company will hire you. I was lucky that my siblings sent me to college and help me to get a high paying job and even travel in the US, Canada and Asia. So I advise you to take your education seriously because it will really help you down the line.

You'll be open to more opportunities and it will be easy for you to get a job. If you want to earn money with no problems whatsoever then you should continue to enter college until you graduate because most of the jobs out there ( professional ones ) require a degree from the applicant. You will have a higher chance to be accepted.
