Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency because is the first one, everybody hear first time about Bitcoin, after that they see the alts.
Just like any other branding you hear in our everyday's life will eventually be the name of that specific product, even if it is produced by different company LOL As example here in my country, Honda is the firs motorcycle here, and old people are still referring all motorbike as 'Honda' whatever the brand is  If Dogecute was the first blockchain coin, we will have Dogecute as the king by now |

I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?
Well, the main thing is that bitcoin is the god father of all crypto-currencies in the world. And secondly it has a lot number of trusted users and traders and transaction is 90% safe in the bitcoin platform. That's why people around the world are satisfied with bitcoin. Bitcoin garnered the widest recognition and highest user base because of this advantage, it's not about superior technology anymore. Once the lightning network is implemented, Bitcoin will again reign supreme in terms of scaling and potential, so long as other coins don't manage to 1-up it.

How about etherium? have you seen the 1 year chart of it? Take a look and see that there is not much volatility in its growth(as compared to other altcoin). |

It's not the main reason why bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency. Even if it's the first cryptocurrency, there are still a lot of potential altcoins. As for me, the main reason why bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency is because of its volatility. Bitcoin price is not stable, it may pump or dump that it gains more investors to invest in bitcoin. Lastly, you'll be able to earn huge profit in a short period of time. Because of that, bitcoin gains popularity every now and then. |

Because bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency, its the king of all coins and tokens. Its the only one that dump a bit and can pump more than it dump in just a short period of time ! but can pump so high in no time too. And also Because bitcoin is the most paid currency in crypto and it is the oldest currency. Now, no one can beat bitcoin anymore. |

Because bitcoin has been recognized by various countries, if the first is ETH, then I think BTC is not worth it now. |
