Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I've found at least 50 blocks so far. Orphan to block ratio is like 50/50 for me.

Around 3k blocks I think. So that would make something like 800 coins. Though op claims zero block-reward for block 0-?

This is silly. Just for shits I bought one Amazon EC2, mining at 650 k/hash. Not a single block yet.

I'm also mining on my rigs here at home, total of 2550 k/hash. Absolutely no coins yet, just orphans. All orphans.

if it's the same as yacoin... everyone on linux seemed to hardly get any orphans.. could be wrong.. are you on windows ..

I have 3 orphans (2 were before i downloaded the block chain, so was expected)

People on linux got orphans too, myself included. Tons and tons of them. But our linux miners had a slightly higher hashrate compared to the official windows binary -- because we compiled ourselves and optimized it for our CPUs. The windows binary was compiled without UPNP and was not optimized at all for specific CPUs.

With franko the difficulty is insanely low. Blocks are being found too fast for both windows and linux to be able to find any and get them accepted.

But how many 'working' blocks? I have way more found blocks then actually verified.

I must struggle with latency issues or something on these low difficulties.  Mining with 6,000 kh/s and only 1 legitimate block so far.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

Those 50 are all valid, 180+ confirmations

You mean the mining in the wallet?

You have your wallet open, then you can point miners to it.

Like you have cgminer open on that same computer, then point it to 127.0.0.01:<port>, then it'll solo, if you hit a block it shows up in the wallet.

If you have other IPs open in your conf, you can connect from other machines and point them towards the ip/port on your computer w/the wallet.
