Be careful with Nicehash right now for D3. I love Nicehash, but they are almost $2.00 p/d below switching pools. I suspect people aren't renting hashing power on X11 as much, what, with the mass destruction and all....

Good point..  You always have to watch the payouts on any pool.

M

The old nicehash website used to have a page that showed what the 24 hour pay and current pay is for all the algos.  I can't seem to find that page for the new website.  Does anybody have a link for that by any chance?

This one?

Perfect.  Thanks M.  I don't know why I couldn't find it.  I guess my eyes are getting old.  Much appreciated.

Smiley

If you look at the details of each algorithm, for some of them it shows a running chart of how well it's paid to sellers compared to 100% luck mining.  That works for SHA256 and Scrypt, but they don't seem to have it for X11.  I'm guessing it's because the X11 algorithm is too complicated to accurately predict 100% luck all the time ... and if they did, they'd end up like the coin comparison pages that seem to be all over the place.

We should join and charge Bitmain and Dash, they need to change the Dash difficulty algorithm, as happened with ETH, I see many comments that Bitmain is a leech of money, complain in the forum has no result, we fill their mailboxes, we buy mining , but above all we are investors of the company Bitmain and we must be respected.

Are there copies of the OLDER firmware someplace (or anyone?) you know how it works..you upgrade to NEW firmware on an asic miner
and we're better off with the previous version....

just asking ...will likely have this done...but wondering on fall back if needed

I currently have the September 13 and November 2 firmwares downloaded to my computer hard drive.

edit:

I uploaded them in my Mega cloud, in case somebody needs these.
September 13, 2017 firmware: https://mega.nz/#!s49E3A4K!PjeBEtZFdMflKe95gAtqBJRgCR7wyNIp-fCpI_8Qs9w
November 2, 2017 firmware (the newest version at the moment): https://mega.nz/#!ckkQhAzJ!jdTQEbkik-yQpEh9_aNdAoxper-didEqglKsWIaiZAg

that was quick ..thanks ..will see if I can grab them....(again paranoia is how I slide thru life) Smiley

New firmware is doing alright for me

Getting faster speeds out of it. My latest D3 is getting 20.345gh/s

Nice to know you are getting 20.345gh/s, Whats is the hash rate written on the miner you have?

what does bitmain have to do with dash? lol  Cheesy

if we menage to do it like ETH then we would mine 8 usd/day instead of 4 usd/day by end of November and this before electricity bills not big change

only thing we can do is to support dash it will be more effective

can anybody explain why difficulty jumps so vigorously?  From 20 mln to 52 mln, than back to 20 and up to 27 (at the moment) ?

I could understand similar situation for Bitcoin, because some miners may continuously be switching between the most profitable coins (BTC->BCH etc.), but with X11 this can't be so, because there is no more interesting coin than Dash [now].

Which pool do you recommend?  It's so odd that some calculators show -$10/month for me, and some show $150/profit month.

I still use granatgas-pool and it was good to me, my 2nd choice is nicehash

Under settings page, you can set fan percentage.

I switched to team parallel miner over supporting even more of bitmain product (buying their miner AND psu)

I'd say I can't believe bitmain is shipping miners without their attached PSU orders but then again it's bitmain so I absolutely can lol //Searing chime in with some funny evil bitmain quotes xD

PM 1200 watt is perfect for 1

PM 2400 watt is perfect for 2 (need 220/240v)

I disagree.  I think you're asking for trouble running the PSU at 100% or more than 100%.

The D3 uses 1200W "at the wall", right?

From my experience running the 2400w PSU at 100% may work for a short bit, however the PSU will scream like a jet engine the entire time.

What you could do is use three PSUs to power two units.  Just make sure you don't mix and match power sources to each hash board.

I just received my first D3 - I was shocked to see 20GHz average!  Smiley   AND very happily surprised to see that I had the option to control the fan speed!   (50% works perfectly and is much less noisy than the auto-tune S9!)

Just wanted to say "hi" to the thread... I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions.  (i.e., pool questions / firmware / etc.)

1st batch uses around 1000W at the wall.

In that case, yes, 1200W is perfect.

Server grade power supplies can handle the 100% load.

ATX power supplies can't.

My D3 only consumed about 1000 watts at the wall, but I havent used the even further OC'd model of 19 gh/s
