If you'd read about the chips inside the D3, you'd know what you're asking is not possible. Baikal have been designed this way, you cannot physically change these chips to allow other algos.

For those of us who have been mining a while, there is always risk, there has always been risk. If you can't deal with it you shouldn't be mining. I know I have 4 of these coming in soon, I know they are going to sell at a loss. But you lick your wounds and keep on mining.

Probably you are right and I am wrong , technically But bitmain must know its fault and should do something if it is possible. May be, they will reconsider their sale policy , aspect of customers rights Would not it be great injustice to continue as if nothing had happened? They are still selling L3+ anyway They dont have rights to kill customers investement . This is about customer rights , Not chips.

Sure it is, there is no law saying they can't produce millions of them. If people (us) are still buying them, they will still produce them. Why wouldn't they? In a year they will produce newer/faster models and the cycle will start all over again. People that get in on the 1st batch will make money and everyone else seeing how much money they are making will jump on the bandwagon and get screwed. What make you think Bitmain gives a rat's ass about your rights, they are in business to make money.

I would advice you to let some more space behind the D3, otherwise they will heat up very quickly...

OK i have both my D3 up and mining Nice, best of luck! Watch your Chip temps and HW errors. These are some hot runnin bastards. Seems like Bitmain kicked the frequency up to near Redline at 537. I run mine all at 525 or lower to help stabilize them. Whenever I let them run at 537, no matter how much I cool them they start kicking out HW errors and crashing boards. Might want to manually set your fans to 80-100% too.

Only they can anticipate the increase in difficulty and take the necessary precautions( like to not selling too much) In order for the market to be sustainable, it is necessary to stick to a simple rule like not killing algorithims actually, The only purpose is to emphasize this issue

When gridseed came out with the 5 chip miners, people jumped all over them. Then the next shiny toy came out, old product got dumped and new miners were bought. This cycle has been going on for years. In a year a faster miner will come out to even the playing field and everyone will be jumping all over it. It's supply and demand, Bitmain puts them up for sale (they don't even have them yet), let's say 20,000 units. In a couple days all units are sold. Rinse and repeat. If people are still buying them why shouldn't they make them?

Damn the torpedoes and fuck the customer. Get what you can when you can. Too bad really. Kind of Ironic, Crypto and Block Chain are a libertarian initiative, designed to combat exactly that ethos, yet, here we are, getting buttraped by a huge corporation right in the Crypto backyard!! BTW......I can't stop laughing at your choice of Screen name. No offense but that's a Helluva screename!! LOL!

The scariest thing is, soon they will hit the wall on Technology advancements and the whole "mining train" will hit the station with no brakes at 200mph. The only "miners" will be large corporations with free electricity because they greased Government palms.

Funny, that's what people were saying 3-4 years ago. So far it hasn't come to pass. Not sure it ever will. M
