Mandatory Update!

We have successfully upgraded the Worldcoin network and implemented AuxPoW with LWMA diff. algorithm. KEEP YOUR WALLET.DAT FILE DO NOT DELETE. All Worldcoin users must delete the old blockchain, download the new wallet, and resync the blockchain. A snapshot & available nodes are posted on worldcoin.global to ease the sync time.

Due to the double spend attack the community held an open vote in our Discord channel & the Chinese community held their own vote on their social media. The vote was to roll the Worldcoin blockchain back prior to the attack during our AuxPoW upgrade to recover stolen funds. The total vote count was 51 Yes & 2 No.

We have moved our new wallets to our new Github page here (Mac & Linux coming soon): https://github.com/OfficialWorldcoinGlobal/Worldcoin/releases

Our vision, imagine this!

  •    Being able to store money in the virtual sphere without needing a bank or physical location.
  •    Transferring money to friends and family overseas quicker than the duration of a phone call.
  •    Having greater privacy over your personal wealth.
  •    Not having to carry cash, debit or credit cards while traveling.
  •    Cutting down on the overwhelming majority of fees associated with sending money.

Our major goal is to become the cryptocurrency of choice for merchants and consumers during their everyday transactions, whether it be a cup of coffee or bigger ticket items. Worldcoins’ speed and security makes all of this possible. Blazing fast speeds make Worldcoin the best way to pay for everyday transactions. Transactions are fully confirmed in about 60 seconds. Transfer money to your friends and family instantly with just a few clicks. Worldcoin is also based on sound money principals which makes it the smart choice for wealth preservation. It is designed to appreciate in value over time, unlike paper currency. This is due to the fact that only 265 million coins will ever be produced. These advantages are what makes us the leading choice for users.

Download the Worldcoin Client:

4 confirms, 15 sec block time:

CONFIRMATIONS ARE ABOUT THE TIME, NOT ABOUT THE AMOUNT.

You will need 40 confirms the achieve the same security as Bitcoin.

Just like how litecoin is "faster", but each confirm is less secure.

Confirmations: 4

LOL, what do you mean by this?

What happens after 4 Confirmations?

Are you coins gone if you don't spend them within 4 confirms?

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

15 second blocks?

Hello Orphans

+1

OMG, Seriously, people are just randomly changing numbers without knowing WHY those numbers should be what they are.

15 seconds isn't going to be enough for blocks to get from one side of the network to the other. A couple of miners are going to modify their clients to ignore other chains, and just mine everything themselves. With blocks only 15 seconds apart, it's going to be almost impossible to avoid multiple, simultaneous, attacks on the coin.

And picking a random coin that was released today - elacoin.

I happened to be watching the logs and I saw the block chain from 4443 through to 4515 (from 09:00:44 through to 09:02:37) switch to a longer chain. That's almost twice your confirmation period (4 blocks), and that was on a lightly loaded network.

And then, between blocks 5027 and 5100, two miners were fighting over the chain. It kept switching backwards and forwards.

1) a 4 hour time window is not an accurate starting time
2) this better have a higher starting difficulty or grumpycat.jpg
3) no info about premining suggests this is heavily premined
4) try to not completely ruin the launch like the last few

with great beard comes great liver. Reputation Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195803.0

In order for this altcoin to succeed you need to be a really shitty developer, you can't release binaries, and you need to fuck up the genesis block creation.
