The product is great, all you need to do to is get a high success in the ico market.

This is one of my concerns, that the cost is too high for the number of coins minted. maybe I'm just used to buy low sell high.

If I'm not wrong, the price of datum is 0.02 per datum, besides there will be bonuses. So it is 60m USD, most of the icos are around this number. It is nothing to fear about.

How secure data is stored on Datum

Data is stored in encrypted form (AES256-GCM) on the Datum Network blockchain, the term "blockchain" is used liberally in this case as it is a network of BigchainDB nodes (which you or anyone else with a powerful server can run, these nodes get paid DAT for storing and transferring data), this network has "blockchain" like characteristics like decentralized control, immutability and transfer of digital assets ownership but is not a blockchain in the traditional Bitcoin/Ethereum way.

The marketplace layer is controlled by the DAT token which runs on the Ethereum blockchain, this layer stores "hashes" (you could say links) to the data stored in the Datum Network blockchain. 

Isn't there AES512 already ? Like Nexus coin .. I'm not a crypto expert, just saying

Just checked the Whitepaper myself. You are right mike. It's stated there that the sale starts on the 29th. Can anyone of the devs please clarify now which is the correct date for the ICO?! The 17th, as written here in the thread title, or the 29th, as the website and whitepaper say?

My guess is that they postponed the sale to the 29th and forget to change the thread title here.

I think the one that being stated on the website is the correct date and time for the crowdsale which is 29th October. Maybe they have no time yet to edit the title and the OP on this thread.

I don't think it's a question of if but more when. Companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, Uber just hold so much information about us. It's actually insane. With the big data Facebook is gathering they can profile just about anyone.
I really hope DATUM will be able to give some of these values back to us.

Yeah and it's not like that this data gathering will stop or decrease in the future. Just think about the Internet of Things. We are just at the beginning of all this. So if Datum manages to give us, the producers of this data, a part of the share it's a great thing.

I don't think after you sell your data there would be an option for it. But before selling it is quite possible to do so.

Delete data from where? If you decide to sell it, you obviously can't delete sold information afterwards, and since facebook / twitter holds it anyway, you can't delete it from their servers either. Well technically you can delete your account but they still will keep your information.

There not only the microphone can work, but also the camera. In general, there are a lot of ways to collect information. I even read somewhere through the turned-off TV screen can be seen as through the camera. Another question is that the individual data of the average person are not interesting at all. But the database of a large number of average people is of very great interest. And Datum gives us all the opportunity to sell these data, and it's better than if someone will collect them without our consent and for free.

Datum is not about protecting your data but selling it. You don't OWN or protect the data, you are just selling the same data that social medias do.
