anyone else still having issues with the forum?

yep, unchanged error

Someone should shoot a message to Baritus on twitter, (I don't have twitter.)

The database server is being updated

Maybe the site is getting a makeover as well?  I'm just speculating.   Grin

I think there is a bug in QT for windows.

I see thousands of files like:

peers.dat.a065
peers.dat.d9ff
peers.dat.d880

in data folder. They were never renamed to peers.dat

db.cpp

// replace existing peers.dat, if any, with new peers.dat.XXXX
if (!RenameOver(pathTmp, pathAddr))
    return error("CAddrman::Write() : Rename-into-place failed");

I think RenameOver library for windows have problem.

The database HDD filled up and the host is being very slow upgrading.. I thought it would be done already.

And yes, we definitely need to work more on spreading the word as a community, especially on Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook.

Can you share some details about upcoming marketing campaign?

I'm surprised the price hasn't jumped yet with Cryptoave coming next Monday. I'm really curious to see how much it affects interest in the coin - definitely an important moment in the alt-world, having another coin you can exchange directly for USD and vice versa. Exciting times!

I'm a little confused whether this is that big a deal. From the first post i read that c-cex.com already has a DGC/USD. Can you expand your thoughts more on this?

I've actually never heard of that site, and I consider myself fairly plugged in, so that's one consideration. That site doesn't seem to do what I was mentioning though. My understanding is Cryptoave will be able to purchase DGC and cash out DGC directly to your bank account, a la Coinbase and the like. I could be wrong. If that is the case however, I think it's a pretty big deal.

There will be more features as well including the bank,  which is arguably more important than the exchange.

Yes the bank will be a very big deal allowing price protection for your dgc in case the market drops. This is the sort of thing that will put us on the radar of stores like Overstock who mentioned recently they are interested in looking at other coins with stability as possible future payment options.

Digitalcoin AND CryptoAve should learn a very very important lesson from Worldcoin and Scharmbeck. Being tied too closely together can spell disaster for the coin under certain circumstances. Initially it should be fine for DGC and CryptoAve to be very close, assuming there are not major problems with CryptoAve, but I suggest that as time goes on, they distance themselves from each other a bit (maybe by CryptoAve supporting a couple of other coins among other things), because there is always the chance that the regulators will make new laws that will prohibit CryptoAve, or any other similar entity from operating the way it wants, and this could be a huge problem if tied to close to digitalcoin.

It's still unclear what is going on with Scharmbeck, but I am anticipating they will either dissolve, or there will be a longer delay until they are set up. They have been having problems with depositing funds while in beta. I have been following this very closely. Now, and in the next couple of weeks is a huge opportunity for DGC, if it can step up its game and start marketing, with a new website etc..! There are alot of angry Ex-WDC supporters out there, which could be easily convinced to come aboard the DGC ship. I have been a supporter of both coins for a while, but seeing all the problems with WDC now, and with all the money i've lost because of it, I've had enough with the coin. All aboard the DGC ship!!!

Wow that's really interesting thanks for all your responses. I've been looking at DGC for a few days now and I've gone ahead and bought some.

I can't remember the Official list of supported coins, but it's BTC, LTC, DGC, ARG, SRC for SURE, and possibly one or two more.  CryptoAve is currently waiting on legal documents set to arrive Feb 8th. The official moon launch will happen on Feb 10th.

You can add PPC to that list and don't forget the limited amount of shares in the exchange which are tradeable in DGC only.

http://xpool.net/ is located in California. I believe it is the longest running DGC p2pool.
