It's too early to say that. There will be many things that will block our ways first and that is when we can only see if that is possible. Fiat is still needed for now so everything will still have it's balance.

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink

I do not think that's going to happen, because paper currency has been used for a long time. we will use digital currency but not to replace paper money.

I don't think digital currency will replace Fiat, it may later be dominant but fiat will still remain, not everyone can work with cryptocurrent, not everyone will be educated and not every one will be able to operate this technological devices.
I don't think that digital currency will be replacing cash. It may somehow be used in the future more that today but it will not replace cash. Because not all of the people can have access to the digital world and not all people understands it, i didn't mean anything, yes it can be learned but it will take time. That is why i think cash will still prevail.

The most of people feel comfortable when they hold paper money in their hands. But maybe someday cryptocurrencies will be used by everyone. Who knows when it happends

I don't think so. Paper money is still very important because we can use it anytime and anywhere whether in countryside or in the cities. Because cryptocurrencies will only be used in a place where there is an internet connection. You cannot pay using cryptocurrency if the internet connection is poor because you cannot easily access to it.

In my country, the digital currency is not as popular as paper currency. Therefore, even after 30 years, everything will remain as it was. Digital currency will not be popular with the common people.

Well not at first, maybe not while i'm alive, but I don't see that in future people would use any kind of paper money. Its too much analog in digital world. Country like Sweden dont use paper money(correct me if im wrong), so thats a good start.

Digital currencies are becoming more popular comparing to paper money day by day. So if trend continues the same way, it is high likely that crypto money will replace paper money before 2030, imo!

YES. Of course. Digital currency will replace paper money in the future but it will take a lot of years to make it happen. There will be a possible many arguments, debates, dry-run and other things to implement it. Why can I say it? Even nowadays some governments around the world is banning bitcoin in their country. Problem arises from that things, the approval of government in using bitcoin as a cashless payment in buying commodities.
But digital currency has also negativities. One of it is when someone bought something example is only one candy, when buying it, will he still use digital currency, bitcoin as a mode of payment? And what he received is lower than what he paid of? Because of the transaction fees? That is some one problem arising in digital currency when it replaces papernmoney.

Depends on the people and locality, there are still people who are afraid of using cards and use paper money. So I guess adapting digital currency will take much time for all the third world countries.

I'm sure that crypto currencies will replace fiat money.
Yes, we do not know when and which currency will become the main one. However, the trend is visible and it must be followed.

I don't think that the cryptocurrency can replace paper money...it can become a complement...because the paper money is controlled by the state and I think that they will want to keep this control for themselves

I believe that digital currency will not literary replace paper money but it will become more useful in the future. We all know that technology and Internet is everywhere what more in the future. But in using digital currency, we can encounter problems regarding the phasing out of paper money. We are not always into digital for we also need some paper money like in buying in some stores.

In some countries were such plans to make the only possible type of money is electronic money. That mean that you would have at least credit card but paper cash. Maybe in some states this idea is realized yet.

I think yes, some day with a new morning we might leave paper currency and coins and move forward to digital currency. We have so much technology and we can easily make this possible any time soon.

Well, I think it depends on the location and the era/time
There are folks don't know the meaning of crypto-currency, it's a fact!
Like some people in country without a internet, who will use the crypto-currencies there?
