For me, digital currencies will never replace paper currencies. Our local currencies have been the foundation of every country and I think if it will be removed, how then will a country determine its own progress in its industry? Because of paper currencies, digital currencies have value to us.
You are mistaken, paper currency only has value because the government says it does, we have seen time and time again what happens when people no longer trust their government, they will begin to use the currency of other countries to try to escape inflation, so nothing will happen if governments can not print currency anymore.
Use other currencies from other countries do not help the world's economy solve this problem. We need to have a better solution and as you said, stop print more amount of currency is the best choice to solve this problem. However, do the government accept it?

I agree digital currency will more popular than paper money in future but we still need paper money. Even though we are in the technological era, there are still many people who have no idea about technology or not use it for some reason.

In the world economy both fiat money and crypto currency need to exist side by side.

In the first world countries where there is ever increasing GDP levels, bitcoin has already been introduced in their payment system. This has led to big multinational companies, like Amazon, started using bitcoin. They can think of moving towards a cashless society.

However, in the third world countries the level of poverty is so high that we see an ever decreasing GDP levels. The major crowd cannot even afford their basic necessities of life (food, clothes and shelter). Here it is almost impossible to introduce the concept of crypto-currency, including the far reaching effects of internet. To make both the ends meet here fiat money need to exist.

At any point in time since there is always a difference in the economy of all the countries, fiat money will always need the presence of crypto currency to survive.

One day, it will be real yes.

World will have only one currency and it will be digital money.
if in my opinion it is not possible if one day the world will only have one currency that is digital currency, because digital currency may not be able to replace the paper money because not everyone can use digital currency.

I believe a digital currency will replace paper money some day. Now, what is yet to be determined  is whether this option will come from a centralized source or from a desentralized one. It is a known fact that many governments in cahoots with central banks have been promoting the substitution of paper money for a digital form , since, it would be much easier to control the supply and value of it. If it were to happen in a desentralized form, faster, cheaper, and safer to serve the world's ctizens would be ideal. History will tell...

They may not have a choice, it is possible that things go so bad that governments will be forced to create a new gold standard once again so people trust in them but the issue with that system is that you need to trust your government to not print more paper than the gold they have in store and we know we cannot trust them with that.

No one can replace paper money in any country because the paper money is regulated by their respective countries while bitcoins have decentralized system meaning that no party set the bitcoin. So bitcoin can't easily is received by a country and replaces the state paper money.

I think it is possible, but I still believe that for the majority to use this as an everyday payment method, high volatility needs to be removed as a risk.

This is a very difficult question. States will never accept that they do not control the money issue. That is why the transition to crypto-currencies will be very difficult and long. But we are at the beginning of a long journey. I really hope that the crypto-currencies will put out fiat money
We are from the beginning in the process of revolution and it is nothing new that with the passage of time, old things are replace with new ones which are more capable of meeting the new demands of people and same is the aces of digital currencies and paper money. Paper money has become old fashion now mostly in developed countries. People there are already very much dependent on plastic money.

You think small mom and pop shops or gas stations will accept bitcoin and wait for confirmation from each customer?
Paper money will remain here.

According to me, NO.  No kind of money can replace other. Instead of massive growth of virtual money, physical money has its own place. Yes I agree with the thing virtual currency could replace money to major extent but not completely because still there are millions of people who even does not have reach of internet and even the virtual currency has not been centralized by the government, so if virtual currency would ever replace physical one then it would take few decades  Smiley

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink
For me its a no..
Some people are now using digital currency but how about the other that no knowledge of it?
Maybe digital currency will be accepted by anyone but it cannot replace the Fiat.

Digital currency can possibly change the paper money as it has many advantages over the latter. One perfect example is it cannot be faked as real money is, and they can’t be reversed either as in credit card charge-backs.

With technology nothing is impossible. Before there are predictions that we can talk to someone with each other face to face into a screen and now we have video call. Technology is crossing the limits of what human can do but machines can do it. People wants transactions to be safe and easy and convenient the same as we talk so there is a chance that digital currency will replace paper money.

Take note that Digital currency are different with cryptocurrencies but the idea is the same.

Society is already abandoning paper money..

Not for crypto, but credit card and debit card usage is becoming more and more common.
