Hello everyone! Yesterday I met this currency and I'm already undermining it ... Does anyone know when you can download the wallet with graphical interface? I think that helped Votecoin a lot

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Yes, I hope to see the developer more often. It inspires confidence in the community. More people will support this coin if the developer is more active. I have not mined 1 votecoin yet. But now that I see the developer say that he is still committed to making this coin successful, I'll start mining. The community needs reassurance every once in a while that the devs are still committed to making this coin successful. Best of luck team.

I talked with the developer of this coin, brainstorming some ideas, and i must say this coin is very much alive!

They are working hard to implement features nobody else ever even tried. The main (huge) issue is that it is traded only on ..probably the worst..exchange i ever used.. but the coin and the tech behind it is actually useful and they will very soon prove its true value.

Not that i want to brag about it, but i will be implementing this on my online community as a test as soon as it is ready for a full scale test.

I can tell you there are some really awesome goodies in work that will change everything.
This is not just an other currency alternative but an entire mechanism designed for a functional purpose.
Its this sort of "coins" that survive when the basic alternate payment systems are already in place and need no other competition.

If at least 10% of the features i heard will be implemented become functional, and i know they will, you will see the awesomeness of this tech (sorry i can't call it a coin, its more of a tech than a currency)

Good luck guys , this thing is something that has actual usable value. Lets write history here ! Smiley

ps. Why on earth don't you present your already functional features on the site, people think its dead even if they are not, and crowd opinion counts!

VoteCoin Mission
VoteCoin is a decentralized anonymous platform for elections and other voting purposes, based on Zerocoin protocol.
It can simplify public polls, surveys and crowd funding campaigns and create their process more flexible and easily trackable.
This new digital currency can strengthen democracy and help people to reach their goals.

Wow, this coin is so good

I'm really sorry for the disappointment.
We were able to collect only about 15% of our target during ICO, and for that reason everything takes much longer than expected. But I can assure you we are still on the track and our best intention is to make everything working as soon as possible.

After we have GUI wallet, we will be able to provide plugins for website owners, so they can integrate voting functionality into their websites, so users can vote by clicking on a hyperlink in browser (wallet will open).
It will allow users and website owners to both earn and spend money (coins), and to use VoteCoin for real-life voting purposes, which is the main goal - and I believe this is the main factor which will drive up the future price of the coin.

-Tom

Is there a list of pools that donate a portion of the pool fee back to the project? I'd be happy to switch pools if it is for the greater good of Votecoin.

Dear Dev,

I've downloaded the wallet on Windows 10 "x64", whenever I try to start it, the cmd appears and disappears on the spot and the wallet does not start. I tried two different releases but both has the same behavior! When I checked the votecoin.conf, found it empty. Is it the problem? Amd if its the problem, can you share with me what I need to put there please?

Thanks,,

i am using the NEW gui wallet and works great.

I noticed a problem if you run the zcash wallet at the same time, it won't work, and needs a bit of time to close before it does

transactions happen in under 2 seconds (no joke), idk how its possible to be that fast.

The devs are not much into advertising the true value of their project right, but i saw some of the plans and this is kickass coin, its more functional than any other coin i tried so far. I hope to be among the first to implement it in my projects, and there are solid plans to make it a lot more friendly for its purpose.

Probably one of the most undervalued coins out there... but price will explode once devs implement the voting / crowdfunding setion of the wallet

Thanks for your insight. I agree that this is one of the most undervalued coins out there. I'm looking forward to more updates from the devs. I'd also like to know if there are any mining pools that donate a percentage of the pool fee back to the votecoin development fund. Maybe we can help to raise some extra money for the next phase of the project.

I see that the file contains generated data, and i am not sure if sharing that file will not cause a conflict between two apps with same data.

I suggest you check the git for details and try installing it again then use your own generated file

https://github.com/Tomas-M/VoteCoin

there are also windows binaries but also this info:

Quote
The file can be generated manually by running

mkdir -p ~/.votecoin
echo "addnode=mainnet.votecoin.site" >~/.votecoin/votecoin.conf
echo "rpcuser=username" >>~/.votecoin/votecoin.conf
echo "rpcpassword=`head -c 32 /dev/urandom | base64`" >>~/.votecoin/votecoin.conf

Voteoin does offer high privacy standards and keep transaction secrecy through a sophisticated zero proof of knowledge scheme. But this offer also already exists in other projects. Are there other, much more interesting offers? Hopefully VoteCoin becomes a successful project.

YESS!!

thats the entire thing about this coin, it will have a practical and actually usable mechanism for crowdfunding and voting.

It is a new concept of voting, where one can "fund" a particular option he wishes. Basically by voting you also finance with a small (or big) amount that particular thing you are voting for.

It is a mixture between public funding and voting, bringing under one hood whats most useful in both

and of course it allows true annonimity if you wish (not mandatory), and such a think can be very useful in many cases where votes or funds should be gathered anonymous.

They present it as "election system" but its not about political elections, its more useful and complex than that. I made this last remark because for some non native speakers like myself, "election" means "political" and it might create confusion.

Also so far, i am using their new wallet and transactions happen nearly instantly, with zero fees (but selectable fees for when the network will need it).
