My GUI wallet is not syncing, it says you have 0 active connections. How could I solve this? Any help please?

EDIT: I restarted windows, Waited for 30 minutes and removed all of the files and sub directories except for wallet.date and votecoin.conf.

I still have the 0 active connections. Any ideas please?

Final Edit:

Connections are back again, wallet is syncing normally.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

If you upgraded the gui wallet as the dev described, you should have same private keys in there so your old wallet address still works. Normally, in my wallet at least, a new address is generated on each click of those two tabs.

Can't you check the address from previouly used places such as the mining pool?

You can also click the transaction hash in the balance history on your dashboard and it will open the details in the blockchain explorer where you can see the address used .

(be sure your wallet is 100% sync)

in the cli wallet (old one)..i don't think its possible to list existing keys or addressess, use new one better

The current voting mechanism is still under heavy work. There are many things that will be decided on the way based on use case scenarios. I think it is prematurely to announce details about the way the voting functionality will be achieved at a technical level. The team is working on things that require different concepts but hope to realize them on existing technological mechanisms. If they will use sharding as a data distributing process or not is not something i know right now, but i know that even if they will, they will prefer to focus on actual development than to announce in detail plans that might change and improve even before getting released.

This is not the type of company that focuses on advertising details about their future "potential" work, but instead focus on actually doing them and then documenting them once released and properly tested.

Important
We've identified a bug in GUI wallet version 0.1.4, which prevents the wallet from shutting down properly.
The wallet stays running on background even if you close its window.

Users are strongly encouraged to update to GUI Wallet version 0.1.5 as soon as possible.
Download here:
https://github.com/Tomas-M/VoteCoin-wallet/releases

If you are currently running version 0.1.4, click the close button, wait for the window to close, then copy the new release 0.1.5 or newer over your existing installation and run votecoin.exe. Then you can close the window again, and it will properly shutdown the wallet.

We apologize for the inconvenience

Run votecoind.exe from commandline so you can see the error messge.
Most likely you will have to run this:
votecoind.exe -reindex
