Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

If you have faith just hold it until the price comes up again. But if you don't, sell it or exchange becomes another altcoin or currency. Looks simple but make us stress, because not all of us can face this situation clearly. I only see my strategy, when reach buy area just buy and when comes into sell area, I must brave my self to sell it. No worry or argue with another person about my decision. Just face it and thank you.

First thing to do based on my experiences is not to do some panic selling when prices are falling, if you have faith in it then its a good time to buy and hold it more, and i think you already did your homework by researching some forums, vids and study about the movement of the prices so i think its a good step forward to know about why the price is going down and why its going up, basically all about fundamental  Grin Grin

If that happened, there are only 4 things you can do :
1. You will hold your coins at least until it ROI or you get some profit from that.
2. You will sell immediatelly all of your coins and move your money to other coins.
3. You will sell some of your coins and will keep the rest until price bounce back
And
4. You don't care with the price and keep your coins for years

Trader you must see journey price. The actual price of BTC or altcoin is not to known anyone, the price can go down quickly and then rise can be very fast because no one to knows. In fact we only predict the price of long trips BTC or altcoin. Difficult but interesting, you hold your BTC if you don't want to lose. You can see in the alt section at this forum, where the coin in hot talk. Done many tutorials from very good friends. Good luck.

I still believe bitcoin can be priced higher so I suggest you just hold your bitcoins. You are holding good alts so you can collect more of them when the price falls. It is a good opportunity to pump your coins when the price is falling but you only do this to top coins.

I think ETH and NEO are good coin. The second half of September will have good news and may well pump. You should trust the coin you have chosen, they can hold long term. No need to worry.
Bitcoin you buy at $ 4600 - a pretty high price and now it's reduced to $ 4300 you worry and wonder whether to sell or hold? I think you should keep Bitcoin, it going back up to $ 5000. Sharks are just waiting for those who are not patient and fearful.

I will suggest you what I do when BTC/ETH started falling.
Read the news regularly and figure out if there is anything against a coin that can keep the price low. For example 2 days back news broke out on NEO, As soon as you saw a news against a coin try exchanging your altcoin to USDT. So if the price fell back say certain percentage then buy back that coin with your USDT.

In the First place when the price is falling you don't need to be panic, stand still, calm and Relax especially if you holding a Bitcoin and Eth both of them you must hold it in a long term. Both are has a brighter future. Just hold it until next year's come for sure their value will going to have a big difference for sure.

If you have weak hands then for sure you would suffer consequences on losing money. In these kind of price decrease moments we should not easily panic and sell off our coins just to cut loss seeing you are holding two Strong cryptos which is Bitcoin and ETH then holding them would really be worth it.Instead of selling them better to add up more investment and buy more cheap coins.

What should be done? I think when the price fell to analyze market and hope the price bitcoin back up because if the price goes up, the price of the bitcoin coin others will follow
I have a little different opinion. If there is a decline in the prices then I suggest it is better to start investing more in bitcoins because dip is the opportunity to increase this asset. There is no need of going mad or losing mind. I have seen most of the people panic but real traders know how to benefit from all situations.

I think all of those suggestions is explained well, but in my own idea about it some certain aspects will matter like keeping you coins for years. Not necessarily you keep it for years, because that's too long for the coin price to gain it's price back. You should have to monitor your holding always because price of a crypto currency is really moving fast and unpredictable most of the time, it may rise or spike it's price within a day and fall back immediately. Maybe it's just a case to case basis before applying all those ideas mentioned like selling you coin's just to gain profit with other cypto coins, because you really needed focused thinking before reaching that specific decisions.

Holding bitcoin is good because you can earn profit . It depends also how long you hold bitcoin if you hold long more chances to earn big. But if you hold shorterm you can earn only little. If you want to sell your altcoins its your choice but you can see first if you earn profit and if you see you can earn sell it but If the coin that you have not increase but decreased better to hold it. And if you have extra money you can invest to bitcoin again.

What should be done? I think when the price fell to analyze market and hope the price bitcoin back up because if the price goes up, the price of the bitcoin coin others will follow
in this case the alternative way to become productive is not to panic instead buy a lot of coin because the possibility to rise is always there.coin price is really not stable everybody can become profitable if we should properly observe the movement of the market.
yes i agree sometimes people is always afraid of the unknown.even if a coin decreases a small amount we should not be panic on it because i think theres nothing to be afraid off i believe falling of the  price is a great opportunity to buy and sell it if it will comeback to the normal price or maybe  above the normal price.
When the price dump most traders grab the opportunity to buy more at a lowest price. Yes true we should not panic on the downtrend of the market, instead buy back at the cheap price. Because eventually the value will recover and you can earn profit on doing so.
Sometimes it is not goes as planned , everyone one to buy low.
But instead you successfully bought it at low , the price continue dropping and you start frustating.
You can do cut loss when you think it won't be a good situation for you , but keep holding itself there's no harm as it is part of the taking risk.
Well, every great opportunity comes with great risk and with bitcoin the risk worth taking because it always pump whenever the dip happen. Besides, I said a couple of days that the dip season is time for people to make quick trade but. It too late now.

EDIT: Life without risk is no existence Smiley

Yes I agree to you that the high risk is a great opportunity were the others didn't find it because there are many people who are afraid to risk in the market that can cause them loses if they are risking but the people who are risktakers become more profitable and learn new lessons about the market dip that can cause them to make a new strategies in the market.

in fact every one has their own mindset but to me i personally hold my bitcoin, because some time the inexperienced people start selling their bitcoins which then create problems and the the price start decreasing temporarily. i think in such situation it will be a right decision to hold our bitcoin and not to sell it. because bitcoin has still very good potential and hope that its price will continue increasing for a long time.

To be fair, statistics of bitcoin from it's begining shows us clearly that price rises despite the fact it can fall sometimes. Maybe we have to wait years like it was On 29 November 2013, when btc's price was 1,242$. Imagine when people bought bitcoin at that time, they had to wait 4 years to get profit because bitcoin started rise this year.
So I can say if this will continue, profit depends on how much we can to wait.

Not selling your coins, this is one of the principles in the crypto world that people should not make panic when the prices are falling down.

I've been in your shoes and I'm afraid too when the prices are falling down and are not getting back up again where they were even though they value in fiat is the same or higher but that doesn't make sense to bitcoin holders (especially those early adopters)

First, don't look at the charts and price of the coins that yoh hold especially bitcoin. It's a sore in our eyes  trust me that it's pain is even harder to accept than to break up with your girlfriend. Second, take the chance of buying some more, this is the good thing o do when price are falling. Last, have some vacation for a couple of days up to one week.
