well, when the prices are falling theres a two types of reaction with two diffirent people. when price is falling big investor is very happy because they can buy a lot of coins with the very cheap price. but when price is falling an ordinary people investor panic because they profit will lost.

To be fair, statistics of bitcoin from it's begining shows us clearly that price rises despite the fact it can fall sometimes. Maybe we have to wait years like it was On 29 November 2013, when btc's price was 1,242$. Imagine when people bought bitcoin at that time, they had to wait 4 years to get profit because bitcoin started rise this year.
So I can say if this will continue, profit depends on how much we can to wait.
Out of curiosity. Isn't 2016 was the year bitcoin reach the $1000-1500 range which the Saxo bank later predict the price to reach $2100 this year?

What I usually do if prices are falling most specially if the coins are very low, I would buy more coins from a much lower price and your total amount of couns would then be divided; the result would be lesser losses. Read or research on google about books or ebooks on trading.
It could be better if will actually have a goal that we could achieve for us to know if we would earn on the future. And if the price of Bitcoin dump, for us to not panic and sell our current bitcoin we should consider buying altcoin or bitcoin I guess si when the time it will pump you can have the opportunity to earn and to have a big profit in the future.

For someone with a great capital, when the price are falling it's a good timing to buy altcoins but for those who are not capable and have a limited capital, it is the indication that you will get some loss with your investment. With that, just hold your altcoins and wait for the price to pump.

Nothing i just hold on always if your purpose is to have a good profit then you should do buy and sell when you already knew that bitcoin may fall and hit the max price for this week then sell and wait for the lrice to decrease and bhy and hold again this is the basic way to earn profit from buy and sell but mostly i always test my patience to hold more and earn from hding

Yes, its an opportunity to buy when market is red. But if you have a stock already, just hold it if you know that it has great potential or support. If it dumps further you can sell some to cut your losses and buy again. But for me, I am confident with my portfolio. I dont mind whats happening now, I know it will bounced back soon. I am used to it. Smiley

Yeah your right, that is the best thing we can do when bitcoin price is falling down is to invest in altcoins. Because more of the altcoin have potential to survive in any situation. However, vise versa when altcoins fall down.

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

I try to never sell when the price is falling unless you are at the top of a big pump and it's just started to drop. That leaves buying and holding as the main two options during a drop in price.

If you have some extra fiat that you want to invest, then buying Bitcoins or good altcoins during a price drop is a good strategy. If not then just hold what you have and ride it out. It will eventually rise up again if it's a good investment.

If I'am in that situation I just need a lot of time to make a decision, because if sell it immediately probably price of bitcoin will increase again. Also if I invest it to altcoins all I need is to choose the better coin.

If the price of the bitcoin goes down. The best thing to do is stay calm and just stay cool. We all know that the going down of the bitcoin is just temporary and it will rise up again.

Nothing really the most important rule of trading is to not sell at a loss unless it's a exceptional case or any emergency even if you take trading in real life not everyday the price is increasing same way here also the price increases but also drops, that doesn't mean you sell at loss instead it's better to wait or set stop loss limit if you panic a lot.

If you are a novice trader, I suggest you to convert all of your alt into bitcoin then trading btc - fiat.

Your suggestion is very good an yet profitable but how could he learn on different things surround the crypto trading while he stick only on 1 sided trades? And I think its better to have many choices on trades so that we can familiarize on how tradings work on both sides.

if you have capital you should buy it but if there is no capital I suggest better hold the coin until the price goes up. Because there are times where the coin will experience an increase in prices that may be will rocket.

The correct strategy for falling prices, sell quickly, minimizing the loss. And buying up a correspondingly large quantity when the price rises. This will help you achieve the greatest success.

If you are a trader, isn't this a buy no matter what?

If you are a holder, then i assume nothing right?

The other thing is this.  Let say you are a holder.  But then notice everything dropped.  However, you feel like they will go back up.  Wouldnt it make sense to sell all your bitcoin/altcoin etc right now if you feel its going to drop even more?  Then once it starts going back up, buy everything back at the lower prices?  However the issue is you would have to claim your trade profit right as oppose to just holding it?  I read in one of those youtube videos that they worst thing you could do is do a lot of small trades because you need to record the profit/loss everytime and it could be a lot of work etc.

Thanks for all of your answers, helped me very much.
I just mentioned that i've been checking prices constantly. Also i've heard that setting up stop loses in crypto is a bad idea bc the market is too volatile. Let's say I don't plan to check prices for a few days, is this a good plan to put a conditional sell order? (for alts I mean)
