again like many similar questions, it depends on the cause of death  bitcoin won't die out of nowhere obviously. so there should have been a reason in your hypothetical scenario. what was it? was it a bug? then by extension most altcoins will have the same issues and the faith in the rest will be lost too. was it a political reason? like countries banning bitcoin (although that won't kill bitcoin). in that case they would do the same for altcoins too. you see most reasons will be extended to altcoins too. it is cryptocurrency in general sometimes. |

Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins your opinion is highly appreciated.  It might depend on the reason why Bitcoin can die. In case when the death is due to total ban of Bitcoin as done by all governments or regimes then there is a possibility that Bitcoin death can also mean the death of altcoins. Now, if the reason can be other than that or it is within Bitcoin like losing the appeal from the market then there is a possibility that another coin can rise up to take the vacuum of leadership. Totally agree with you if that would be the situation i think too that there is a possibility that altcoin can die too. |

In my own opinion, if bitcoin dies, altcoin would probably die too because bitcoin and altcoin has a big connection to each other that there prices are almost connected in their exchanges from altcoin to bitcoin. The reason why altcoin is very popular too is because bitcoin is popular too. So if anyone tries to shutdown bitcoin, altcoin will be shutdown too. |

Bitcoin currently have the biggest market cap. Investors will withdraw their investments in Alt coins, if Bitcoin {the first Crypto
currency} fails. Most Alt coin supporters think their coin will survive if Bitcoin fails and they shill for those coins and talk smack
about Bitcoin {the major competition to their Alt coin} ....but they are soooooo wrong. Everyone are looking at Bitcoin and if it

ETH will take over Bitcoin because we know that ETH is the most popular after Bitcoin. how do you think about that? It would be very difficult from investors point of view to lost our attraction to bitcoin. Unless in extreme cases that suddenly we all shift to altcoin market and totally abandoned bitcoin. But its less likely to happened. ETH has already attempted to overtake the spot from bitcoin if you would remember. There was even a time when the marketcap of ETH was almost the same as bitcoin and people started to talk about the 'flippening'. Unfortunately, ETH bubble was burst, so it didn't happened. So I don't think that ETH can really replaced bitcoin as the dominant coin, unless we all shift to ETH and government around the world connived with its other to banned bitcoin. |

Yap i agree with you. If bitcoin die then altcoin Will die too, cause bitcoin is just like a mother of all altcoin so if bitcoin is die all altcoin can't exchange the coin to bitcoin so they can't get real money/fiat

It would be the first thought yeah, bitcoin dies => altcoins die.
Depending on why though.. bitcoin could in theory die because of regulations/not being anonymous etc.
In that case a coin that can provide anonymity could take over..or be the "next" thing.
And there are many more scenario's.

Yes there will still be future for altcoins. Because if bitcoin dies, the next biggest coin would take the bitcoins spot on the top. Because you see, even though altcoins and bitcoin are all crypto currencies,and that altcoins drop and rises with bitcoins, they are all separate things. Even altcoins with other altcoins. So if ever bitcoin dies, alrcoins will survive. But still that depends on the decisions of the people on top. |

Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins your opinion is highly appreciated. my personal thought is, alts wouldn't necessarily die out from the association of being a cryptocurrency, but also, by that same association, every alt would take a massive hit. my guess is, for bitcoin to absolutely disappear or become worth next to nothing over a short period of time, some catastrophic news that completely undoes the ideals and foundations of bitcoin would have to come about. however, alts being what they are with their different characteristics, might weather the storm and bounce back up after a period of time. however, that does depend upon the event that took place that would hypothetically cause bitcoin to be rendered useless. if the same event would also encompass the appeals of the alts, then those too, would be pretty much gone overnight. |

i dont think so, i dont know if bitcoin will die in the future, but i think its not. because bitcoin is money, money is all we need, and we use money in everything we do in life. so without bitcoin how are we supposed to do transactions online? aside from credit cards.
Bitcoin is just a money in the internet not a real money. Some are preferred to used bitcoin in online transactions because it is fast and easiest to make transactions with this currency. Still we can make online transactions without bitcoin by using other currency just like USD. But if happens that bitcoin will die, possible that the whole crypto world will collapsed and the existence of new digital currency. |

Altcoins with other algorithms will probably survive or if ETH survives then altcoins will survive and use ETH as store of value. But I do not think bitcoin will die. It is very strong right now.

Bitcoin dies, and it takes all altcoins along with it and crypto currencies die, and fiat gets power more than it ever had or something new is introduced. 2. Both have different situations if bitcoin loss it appeal of failed to upgrade it self then users are shifting or looking for other crypto that will suit to there needs and thats the time that bitcoin will die and altcoin will rise, but if bitcoin are been ban or stop of all government in the world or just even the regions altcoin will die together with bitcoin as altcoin is depended to bitcoin.
