I see alot of people are holding Bitcoins and are convinced that their coins would multiply in value. The same people preach the Bitcoin ideology that its P2P,  decentralised, low to nil send or receive etc.

However, only a small group of people today are using Bitcoins as they were intended. And the fees are not exactly cheap to buy Bitcoins, not to mention those exchange places are basically like banks.

So my question is, are you a True believer of Bitcoins and other Cryptocurrencies that it will one day replace paper money, decentralised and all. Or are you only a believer that the price will continue to climb and you'll one day be a millionaire?

I simply find it fascinating that its apparent, people are preaching the benefits of Bitcoins but they are not using them. Preaching to newbies and drive up the demand and prices of the coins.
Rather, I would love to see people who really believe in Bitcoins, actually going out there and using the coins to purchase products, send/receive coins and let the coins circulate around. I would love to see that day. When the prices are not so volatile, and the coins are being used as they were intended. However, not being volatile also means the prices would rise sharply like it has been this year, which also means you wont be a millionaire holding onto them coins.

So are you a True Believer?

Sad to know the truth but the thing you are saying on here is the truth on which most people do really see Bitcoin as a form of investment not really on its main purpose but well we cant blame them or even ourselves to engage such thing because no people doesn't really like to have money or earn money on bitcoin. This is really the advantage or goodness why bitcoin is popular. Its a new way payment system and at the same time a money making opportunity.

However, only a small group of people today are using Bitcoins as they were intended.

What is this "intention" you speak of ?

Are you Satoshi?

What were Satoshi's "intensions" for discovering the solution to the latest cryptography math pro
blem?

What were Einstein's "intensions" for discovering the solution to the quantum physics math problems?

Did he intend for the nuclear bomb to be so dang popular?

All Satoshi did was solve a math problem.

There are still many more awaiting solutions.

What were Newton's and Gallileio's intensions when they did math?

How was gravity and relativity and blockchain intended to be "used"?

I'm sorry, but gravity, relativity, and blockchain tech are all just math concepts.  You are free to either believe the math or reject it and become a flat earther or bitcoin basher, but you cannot "unsolve" the math problem in the minds of those of us who agree that 1+1 = 2

Im not a flat "earther" (someone who believes in Earth is Flat?). and Im no Bitcoin basher. I actually would like Bitcoin to be what its intended to be. The real bashers, are the ones taking advantage of the current fluctuation and volatility. The reality is, Bitcoin is not a company, you cant really say you're "investing" into it. Its really just a gamble of Up or Down.

The intentions are what most people mentioned in just about every single thread you click into. "Decentralised system" which I assume includes being a currency that is not controlled by a governed body for appreciating or depreciating, "Free" Peer to Peer sending and receiving, do not require anyones approval to send or receive payments, new payment system etc.

I have used bitcoin since 2010 without any regard for drama or the price. It is the only money I need and I ain't going back. I deliberately worked on my credit score until it said "Unscoreable". Which is my official credit score, lol.  I've opted out of bank money to the extent I can.

It is still in premature stage to assume that bitcoin will replace our current fiat or paper money, bitcoin is like Internet back in our old school days, that times the people only see internet as a joke, just a technological advancement and hard to understand, some people, not all didn't saw whats happening now in our millennial and advancement technological generation, all the young people embrace this advancement like using the Internet, the same as Bitcoin, to your question my answer is I am truly a believer, but its still early to say that it will replace the fiat.

I consider myself a Bitcoin realist - I understand that traditional fiat financial system won't disappear in a few years, in fact this process might take ages, so maybe we'll have evolution instead of revolution. It's quite possible that fiat and crypto will coexist in some countries, where governments will try to figure out how to work with it, while authoritarian countries will be fighting crypto. As for the price, Bitcoin can much easier succeed as a store of value, so it might grow even if adoption will be slow.

Aren't your opinions contradictory. On one side you saying that you consider those to be believers who hold their coins till becoming millionaire but on other side you are saying that believers are those who use Bitcoin for buying products!
For me, all those people who using Bitcoin in any sense like buying with the hope of rise, earning through it, day traders, merchants, project launchers, are the believer. So in 2017 everyone using Bitcoins over fiat are automatically the believers. We are special 0.05% of world's population which is much superior in fintech.

I truly believe in bitcoins. I believe it is the future of finance and it will forever change how we use money. However, I would say that bitcoins is just a jump off point of sorts and I think governments will just adopt the concepts and frameworks it has laid down. What will happen is that governments will ditch physical paper money and coins and go with cryptocurrency in their own way.

I believe that bitcoin will have a good and maybe high value when every coin is mined, because then it will be more stable in price. Many use the coins to buy little things, but prefer holding and leave the whales increase or decrease the value. I guess it's how every average btc user might be doing. And yes I believe in this coin for the future !

Replacing paper money should not be the question unless Bitcoin establishes itself as a "Global currency" all over the world and Governments start believing that they should really unite and use One Currency, All Nations policy. But to my thinking, this should not happen as if Bitcoins dominate paper money then there will be nothing to give value to it as well as it may be dangerous for altcoins too (as well as Bitcoins) because if Bitcoins end up everything, what would these investors look for? No matter how deep you think, everyone is here to make money over money (here: Bitcoins).

I totally believe in Bitcoin. Just take a look a Bitcoin price few years ago or maybe just early of this year when Bitcoin price about nearly 1k$ and how about now? It's about 4k$ so there are no reason that I will not believe in Bitcoin. I'll hold all of my Bitcoin for few more years of course I'll not stop earning Bitcoin. I'll only sell it when price reach 10k$ per Bitcoin Smiley

I am a true believer in Bitcoin as store of value/digital gold. I do not believe it'll ever become P2P cash en masse, though obviously there are some people here who are using it as such. They're an exception and always will be.

The deflationary aspect means that 99% of people will look to spend the other forms of money they have access to before spending their BTC, and that's without taking into account the future waves of adoption which'll drive the price higher until it saturates to an extent.

That's human nature and it won't be changing ever. If the cash aspect was the main intention then human nature should've been taken into account when defining its qualities.

I wouldn't call myself a true believer but I do believe in the vision of Bitcoin. I am a believer because of it's decentralized nature, and the way that it was constructed that it will rise in price. However, I don't expect it to replace fiat nor do I think it will, but I do think in time it will be able to work along side it in some shape or form.

i am a realist

bitcoins ethos was never a new world order one world currency. it was a open barrierless free choice option away from the fiat struggles.
after all if the only currency became bitcoin, it becomes as corrupt as fiat.. thus bitcoin should remain as the open option beside fiat. not to become fiat

ofcourse its not built to handle 7-10 billion peoples daily life for the next 100 years. BUT. the BSCARTEL went super anal with stiffling growth and removing utility because of that fact,.. that its becoming less useful for even just a few million people and a few hundred thousand merchant.

bitcoins utility is dropping. its no longer barrier-less as it was and people in developing countries are seeing its too expensive to use.
i spent years travelling and helping people/merchant adoption. but lately.. the crap the bscartel have coded into bitcoin has ruined and stifled utility/innovation.. causing it to be slowly removed from average utility and only really useful for corporate utility.

but hey.. seems no one cares about real utility, all they want is the 'reserve speculation' aspect to get fiat rich... (facepalm)

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

If we don't use the bitcoins we are holding to buy products doesn't mean we aren't true bitcoin believers, secondly bitcoin is considered to be a currency and store of value both so I don't think it lessens the chances of our being called true believers if we hold the bitcoins for our future. Lastly, of course bitcoin is not a company nor do we consider it to be one we make an investment in it just like people have been doing in case of gold. Another thing is who says true bitcoin believers expect fiat to disappear from the world altogether, no we don't think so. What we think or foresee is coexistence of both. Bitcoin like it's already been said a lot of time before is still quite new and in infancy stage and it still has a long way to go before it can become what is expected of it.

I have joined cryptocurrency because of this ideology.
That one day people would be able to leave the grasp of agencies controlling what they could do with their own money.
And be able to create a new decentralized form of currency.
This may not be attainable in the coming years but one day i believe it will be a reality.
Because of this maybe i can say that i am a believer.
Believer that cryptocurrency will help us be free...
