Cool that they let you withdraw/deposit physical gold. Lame that they prolly require a scan of your driver's license.

That's actually kind of annoying thanks for the note nubbins, I went and made an unofficial one until they decide to well have a bitcointalk presence
Also quickly checked coinforum and there was no note there on them so that is a bit surprising for a not too new exchange only thing they had was a facebook page, anyways best get some discussion going on it before I trust them personally.

I WARNED PEOPLE over a year ago that verifying your 'identity' by uploading documents to these kinds of 'regulated' exchanges would be asking for trouble.  Now CaVirtex got hacked and - guess what? - all your IDENTITY DOCUMENTS got stolen, I am 100% sure.

Check your credit report in a couple months folks .. the smart money says hackers are opening up credit cards under your names and buying houses/cars with your good credit, using your name for crimes, and worse.

I have to agree this exchange CaVirtex was the absolute worst I've ever used .. froze my withdrawal because I used TOR, then stole the funds.  Glad to see them GONE. Good riddance!

Well they should be able to freeze if you use TOR, seems fair since they want to prevent hackers, but I doubt they actually stole your funds. They should of had to 2fa or verify it wasn't hacked before they let you withdraw though.

Was able to withdraw all my cash and coins, with the last coming out today.

Sorry to see Cavirtex go. I was with them since 2011 and really appreciated the ease of transferring in and out.

Me too, it was sort of easy, but their site layout wasn't the best. Did use their debit card as well but it was trash, way too many fees which ate a way alot of my mining earnings years ago.

Hey, I don't use tor for my exchanging and its perfectly fine. Probably 99% of all hackers use some sort of proxy or tor. Also you cut out the rest of my statement saying its fair if they want to protect hackers. I would rather spend 5 seconds on 2fa instead of having all btc emptied from an account.

I agree on that but I would want the choice to automatically freeze my account if someone who was using tor logged on my account. I don't use tor for logging in, so it would make my account much safer. But yea freezing is generally not a good thing to do.

Thats kind of what I was referring to. The option to remove all tor IPs, and then possibly adding a whitelist or a blacklist and then country restricted. Gmails is perfect. They seem to always detect hackers trying to login (they email me) and NEVER have I once been caught by their filters.

I am just personally stating my preferance. I don't use tor for logging into my exchange sites, neither do I want someone using an anonymous proxy trying to get into my account, since they can't be traced for law enforcement purposes. Since I don't use tor and never will, I would want them to freeze if someone using tor is trying to withdraw.

Having been burned as a shareholder, and as a user over the last month, CAVirtex and anyone associated with it can DIAF.  I'm tempted to give Coinsetter a break since they shouldn't have to completely bare the fruits of the previous managements ineptitude, but I find it hard.
