There are a lot of scams out there but there are also legit ICOs. Also, just because and ICO failed doesnt mean its a scam, its just a poorly designed ICO and thats one of the risks of ICO investing. You can reduce that risk by doing a lot of research before investing in an ICO.

Check where it is registered and has experienced team.

For example there is lccx.io - looks like promising exchange based in London.  Well developed white paper, experienced team, located in politically stable jurisdiction.

Most projects hide their info, even legit ones. There are also some projects that look legit but after money grab, nothing big happens for a long time and team only give more and more promises  Sad

In this case, team seems trustworthy, as independent reviews show: ICO Marks - LCCX  - Team Proof 10 of 10 rating, LCCX Founder & CEO Robert Benwell - Interview - and their features are exactly addressing similar security concerns that have made people lose trust in the current exchanges: keeping most of the funds in cold storage, insuring all funds in hot wallets, being regulated by UK govenment (FCA) etc.

It all depends on the ICO we choose. All we have to do is do the analysis and also read the movement of the project. There are many factors that we need to take care of because I make sure that choosing a prospective project is difficult. You should be able to do things and without giving up to find various formulas in order to decide to invest in the project. It may be said that only a few percent of projects are successful and many projects fail. It's all a choice and we have to decide what we do.

Maybe not, maybe yes. Some of the ICOs are legit and some are scam. It’s better to look and study what they are offering or the product/ system that they try to sell. You can even check their website, whitepaper and even check their forum. You can read if all they saying is legit or not. And sometimes you will also feel if it’s a good investment or not.  Be cautious in looking for ICOs.

For now it's still hard to choose where are the good ICO no one can predict it..You must be careful when you wanna join an ICO, make sure you choose the right one..Don't forget to take a look at their website, check their roadmap, whitepaper, and team..Also check their rating..And find what people opinion about that ICO..If you can do that you will have a legit ICO..

You cant say in general if an ICO ist Scam or legit. They are so many really good working ICO's. Also somany good Icos with good project and devs who die after some months because nobody is interested in. According to me, if  project linked to the roadmap it's not scam. those who do not go according to the roadmap they have determined other than that, they are definitely cheaters

It is true that there are ICOs who do not know the gratitude and want to excel others. But we can avoid it as long as we are careful about choosing the ICO's in which we're participating. If you are going to think of ico's that they are scammers, They are scammers if you are going to invest but always think that their coin does not really have always the chance to grow its value

Not quite. ICO is a proven technology, it can be used in different ways. Certain scammers will certainly use this to deceive people. But not all ICOs scammers.

Hi Guys,

Im pretty keen to understand more about ICOs and intend to invest in some.
ANY recommended ICOs and any advise how you guys determine whether is it a legit or Scam?

Thanks in advance.
In order to understand the legitimate ICO or not, you need to analyze the project team and find out where the project is based.

The main problem is that the ICO has no unambiguous status at the level of legislation. Many countries are waiting or ignoring it. Because yes, ICO even for the purpose of fraud can work quietly and collect money.

After the recent events, I think that in the market of crypto-currencies more than 50% is a scam. Investors need to be very careful.

Very much today is ICO fraud but many real projects with it we will also be confused to choose which projects we should follow, so I think how many countries focus on ICO filtering to be published maybe if such rules already exist in this forum it will be easier to invest in the project.

Today, the ICO process is probably one of the most vague processes. In some countries, crypto-currencies are completely banned, I think that you understand why, in others, crypto-currencies are completely resolved, so you need to clarify which country you are talking about.

There are both legit and scam ICOs but its difficult to differentiate between both. Some ICOs may look legit in its initial stage and turn out to be a scam. So its difficult to differentiate between legit and scam ICOs.

Much depends on how correctly you understand the ICO process, because many people think that they have any guarantees, in fact the ICO process is not scam, only if the project itself is not a scam

Here are some red flags you should take note of to spot professional scam ICOs:

1. Beware of over-usage of buzzwords for the ICO
2. Token sale & subscribers are faked
3. Fake LinkedIn Profile, Fake Advisors
