Hopefully this swap goes through without a hitch.

Nice update from their medium post. Hopefully the token swap will be success and no more errors. The token swap is nearly uproaching better to hold our coins in our wallet that we own and control by our private keys.
Guys need to read this for further informations.

So many people will be fuming on this board once they send their EBTC tokens to some stranger for a promised swap that can never legally happen - and they lost their EBTC tokens forever.

Also, they listed EBTC on many exchanges. Ask yourself, WHY would they do such if they original EBTC contract now on all the new exchanges are going to be de-listed in a week or so for their so-called swap that can never happen, as the original EBTC contract is on the blockchain forever and it cannot be deleted. So, it makes no sense if there was an actual swap soon (if it could take place, and it cannot), as they would wait until after the swap to list the new EBTC token on the exchanges, not list the old EBTC contract on exchanges which they did because THEY KNOW the original EBTC token is on the blockchain forever and they can create unlimited EBTC tokens in the code.

You were all played and lied to again so they could run up EBTC to the .20 cent range to dump their EBTC on everyone one last time. You should have sold and left this fraud scam token alone, as all it has been is lies and deception, from day one.
Dude, calm down! The exchange will pass automatically! They will send a new token to the addresses of the holders of the old token. Swap 1:1.

So, we will have our swapped tokens 5 days later according to last announcement https://medium.com/@eBTCFoundation/ebtc-token-swap-announcement-7350ca28ba42

that's a pretty good news, i really wonder what'll happen after swapping process ended. i guess, still will need to observe situation for a while, wont plan to do anything immediately after the swap. and i hope this process will make a big contribution for restoring the community's trust. because as i see, there are still many ppl confused as much as me. lets wait and see.

So i just sit back and relax with my ebtc in my MEW wallet and you will send me the new tokens?
Great, seems easy. Good news right? Or am I missing something?
I guess I'll stay on this crazy ride a little longer.

I am looking for a new bounty campaign!

This thread has been really useful - I had ma eBTC on Hitbtc for trading and they would have become worthless. Moved them back to MEW just in time. Thanks everyone!

Is it the right time to buy ebtc around .3? Even during the swap or wait it out?

If I understand correctly, the exchange of the EBTC will be automatic. But how will it distinguish with people who have already sold their EBTCs?
It would not be normal for them to receive new ones.

It won't happen automatically. You have to send it to them.
Just make sure you have your eBTC tokens on a wallet (you control/own the private key) before block 4462000.
If the tokens are already on the private wallet you associated with EtherDelta, you can leave them there. Just don't leave any tokens on ED's smartcontract.

From the released guide FAQ:

What do I as a token holder need to do to receive the new eBTC?
You need to remove all your old eBTC tokens from all exchanges and send them to a private wallet like MEW, Parity, etc.
We will distribute the new more secure eBTC once block 4462000 arrives and the new smart contract is activated.

What should I do with my OLD eBTC once the new more secure tokens arrive?
Once you receive your new eBTC, the old eBTC will become worthless, so they can be simply forgotten about or burned.

What if I leave my eBTC in an exchange (hot) wallet and not in a private wallet?
You will not receive the new eBTC.

How soon can I start trading the new eBTC tokens?
We will be notifying the exchanges before the token swap happens. Please consult directly with your exchange for the
details about when the new eBTC will be available to trade.

Will the token swap be automatic? Should I just leave my ebtc in my MEW and relax, or not?
A little confused.

As stated above. You don't have to do anything just rest assure that you stored your ebtc in a wallet that you control. As for you, just relax and wait for their announcement.
They will just automatically give you a new ebtc when the 4462000 blocks found. All of the ebtc token holders will recieve 1:1 ratio.

It will be automatic. You do not need to send anything. Keep them in your wallet, not at the stock exchange.

Guys, calm down. Please read the announcement before you react. All you need to do is to transfer your tokens to the MEW that you control your private keys and not the exchanges.

//Just make sure you have your eBTC tokens on a wallet (you control/own the private key) before block 4462000.
If the tokens are already on the private wallet you associated with EtherDelta, you can leave them there. Just don't leave any tokens on ED's smart contract.//

Another thing, technically when you do it all correctly everything will be an automatic process of swap as you follow the steps of instruction for the swap.
