The idea sounds great. From the perspective of greed a lot of webpages most probably would try to use both - the ad revenue and oyster.
About IOTA: is there any usage for IOTA token on the Oyster network?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

So question for the community, has a smart contract already been created or is that still in the process of being written. My second question is if the contract exist on the network could I possibly have the info to add the token to my wallet roster. A side note, I'm excited about the project I love IOTA and Tangle so I'm happy to see teams out there trying to build onto the network so actions can only improve the results of adoption in the long-term future.

Where can I see the ICO progress? I really can't understand why this informations closes for users. Many projects in recent times don't publish this information in official sources

Can you please rephrase what you meant? I didn't understand. What is 14.57 ETH for? There is no softcap, PRL are dynamically minted so the supply is proportional to the demand.

Maybe that guy got confused to see the balance of that address that is why he looking depressed about the future of this project whether this will get succeed to achieve the soft cap to continue in future or not. This is my understanding what I understand from that phrase. He should look over the token generation address. https://etherscan.io/token/0x1844b21593262668b7248d0f57a220caaba46ab9

Thanks a lot for this information. It's much easier to make a choice to participate in this project or not, knowing the ICO progress

The idea seems really good ! I think a lot of web pages could use both, like a combination of Ad revenue and Oyster. I will follow you really closely.

The idea of hidden miner is not so new, and I think search engines will soon penalize pages hosting the miner. I would suggest a strategy change, this will not work out.

Interesting project, worth following to see how things pan out. With Siacoin slowly dying due to various missteps this space is ripe for a new entrant with a fresh take. The whitepaper is detailed - one should spend some time studying it.

To whom who are very serious about their data Oyster offer a new solution for them. Tradition data is stored on local storage, nas, removable storage or cloud for backup purpose. Oyster is offering new protocol for storing data on the IOTA Tangle. User can retrieve data whenever he needs it using any software client that conforms with the Oyster protocol. The best part is data is stored fully decentralized and it makes it secure and moreover OYSTER has many other attractive features which makes it very unique.

Interesting project and a moderate market cap at just 80k ETH, which is rare recently with all the crazy valuations.

This project is very interesting. That's also the reason I have the name in my signature.
I think this can be very useable in the future for blogprojects, torrentsites(like pirate bay) etc. Looking forward to this ICO.

I really like the fact that the tangle and ethereum network are being used together. Will investigate this a bit more, but it looks very interesting.

Nice a decentralised storage solution! This looks a like a new approach, outsourcing the computing power to individuals and compensating them for it, will be cool to see the end result. This project is going to be huge!!

For some reason a Bitcointalk mod deleted my comment for being offtopic, however it was a question related to Oyster, so i will ask again more detailed.
On your website it states: "Files uploaded via Oyster are stored on the IOTA Tangle. This means that an excess of redundant duplicates are stored throughout the network topology of the Tangle, therefore mitigating the threat of data loss. Nodes running the Oyster Protocol perform Proof of Work to guarantee that the Tangle retains the data."
I can see its an ETH based token, so are you going to combine the IOTA tangle on the ETH blockchain? And is this a unique thing that never happened before?
