The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Of course bitcoin is the best one in terms of trading. Ethereum is a good one because of ICOs. I would propose you to go for ICO's. There are some incredible ICO's which will be the following best altcoins for their stage. Cartaxi is one of them, ARNA was a decent one, at the present time Electroneum is going on effectively. They will be the future in the altcoins and ICO cost will be too low when they succeed.
CarTaxi is definitely not one of them. Did you read their whitepaper? Does their model of using tokens really make sense to you? Or did you just read they compare themselves to Uber, so you think they'll be huge because of that? There won't be any demand for their tokens because they will also accept other cryptocurrencies and fiat. So noone will bother using their phone to find some CarTaxi tokens on and exchange, buy them and transfer them to their CarTaxi wallet, so they could pay for towing when they could just use fiat currency.

IOTA could be a good long term play because there are going to be lots of scalability issues in all of the cryptos as they go more mainstream and the number of transactions significantly rises. As far as I am aware IOTA's technology at the moment probably places it best to handle the forecasted increase in volume.
IOTA could be huge. But noone has done a crypotcurrency on tangle before so they are pioneering it. The technology hasn't been proven yet it could work. So they're a risky investment but if they succeed holders will make huge profit.

I am really enjoying deep onion. Love the community and the devs. Just trading it has gotten my 0.00400509 btc profit on Nova. I don't really know how I feel about the airdrops.

Many well established Alt coin fall into this category! Ethereum is my number one pick! I think ethereum is a wonder and it could actually rival bitcoin for a long time! I will pick xmr, dash and EThbook!

You may want to check ADA (cardano) it's a project with years of academic research of provable security on PoS system, thus creating ouroboros (PoS protocol) which was peer reviewed by cryptographers and presented at crypto 17 and was accepted as provably secure PoS. The project is.currently att the bootstrap era (settlement layer) and by Q1 2018 reward era will be implemented (computation layer/smart contracts). I think its a good time to scoop some while it's still cheap.

For long term investment, it's safer to invest in coins that have been in the market for a long time (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple) as it's less likely for these coins to fall in the long run

Hey folks,
what do you think, which tokens are a great investment for 5-10 years?
All people tend to speculate on short-term moves but I am more interested in tokens that will go up x times over the next couple of years...
so to say, the Amazons and Googles of the crypto world.
Which coins are REALLY GROUNDBREAKING in your eyes and why?
I mean Bitcoin started the whole thing but technically there are so much better, safer, faster, more anonymous coins that should take over in the long run.
Please share your opinions
I think monero and litecoin are two coins you must hold in the long run as these coins can offer you high returns in less time. They are two of the most popular coins available in the market. Litecoin is famous as Litecoin is is 4 times faster than Bitcoin. Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that enables instant payments to anyone in the world. Within one year, you can expect the price of litecoin to be above 150$. Monero is a secure, private, and untraceable cryptocurrency. Your accounts and transactions are kept private from prying eyes.your transactions are completely anonymous. Within 2-3 years, price of monero will surely be above 300$.

At this point of time, I would recognize ETH, Monero, SiaFund (Siacoins is very subjective in this case though since they have a unlimited amount of supplies, basically no cap) and maybe the upcoming Nimiq as potential altcoins to HODL long term.

i don't think i'd enter any alt with a 5-10 year mind set.
bitcoin has a chance because it has history and trust and crypto as a whole has a requirement for a reference coin. to an extent it's immune from technical superiority.
everything else is fair game. some coins have good ideas. with 5-10 years of development the chances are someone will come up with something that does the same ideas much, much better.
but there are coins like VTC - that will have lightning network with BTC and it has a big community and development it will stay for 5 years and more because people decided it has the worth i dont think that something can change that.. just like LTC is there

More than likely Bitcoin is the best for long term growth but I am holding a little bit of everything. Etherium, Dash, etc. You never know which ones will pay off the most but I feel that it’s best not to put all of your eggs in one basket when investing in cryptos.
