Important Update:

Without getting overly technical I would like to briefly explain what happened with this latest issue. After launch of v1.1.1 2 miners mined on the same block but with different fees. This then forked the coin and this was not anticipated by any means but nonetheless it happened and has to be dealt with as quickly as possible.

We have released V1.1.2 and it is an emergency release and it is critical and mandatory. This version will create a hard fork at block 31000 so you will need to get this downloaded and running as soon as possible. You can get the new release at Github @ https://github.com/ROIcoin/ROIcoin/releases and you can also acquire it at the website @ https://roi-coin.com/roi-coin-downloads

The download page has complete instructions and there is also a bootstrap blockchain to help reduce your recovery time.

You can run the new wallet before / during and after the upcoming fork.

If you run into any issues or need support the best way you can get that quickly is by going to Github and submitting your issue at https://github.com/ROIcoin/ROIcoin/issues

I downloaded v 1.1.2 and loaded the bootstrap.dat as per the instructions on github.

Now I am getting "no block source available" and I am seeing no nodes in the debug window.

Am I the only one with this issue?

And the bootstrap.dat only gets my wallet up to date until block 27446.

When I type getblockhash 29732 in the debug console I get "Block height out of range code -8"

Try adding the following node

52.211.179.241:3377

See if that helps

That didn't help..

The funny thing is that before I downloaded the new wallet I was connected to 8 peers.

But now, nothing at all.

EDIT: I added the roicoin.conf from an older folder I had backed up. Now it seems to be on block 30420, but still "no active connections to the ROIcoin network"

MORE EDIT: It is working now. I just had to wait for a while... No FUD intended! :-)

Block explorer is also not working OK. My wallet shows up to date and that the latest block is 30436 while block explorer stopped on 30415.

Frustrating time for devs, to spend holidays fixing it. I appreciate all their help making it working again.

Taken from github:

Quote
Go to Help->debug window-> console tab and type "getblockhash 29732"
if you see "0000006aef642158383b16bd16b67d762a41a63ae2cfbdc6479d65d229818175" then you
are on the correct chain, otherwise you need to:

delete your blockchain folders named "blocks" and "chainstate" usually stored in c:\users<USER>\AppData\Roaming\ROIcoin and on linux in $HOME/.ROIcoin folder.
download our bootstrap-27122017-chain-x175.zip file
unzip it
run ROIcoin-qt.exe -loadblock=c:\FULL-PATH-TO\bootstrap.dat

For windows users add 52.211.179.241:3377 while it is syncing.

Linux add that address to your conf file?? (I don't use linux but you'll know what to do)

Thats the process I used and I'm back in the loop.

On another note. Slack needs to be fixed. Someone has set reminders for the next year with derogatory terms. Permissions need to be set for it's not a free for all.

Person came and trashed the slack then showed up harassing the community at Discord. It is on the list to get the slack cleaned up.

Update:

To all the slack fans. We got slammed today by a Slack exploit that allowed a malicious user to post 23,000 messages. It flooded our Slack Channel and shut the thing down. This same person then showed up at Discord and went after numerous community members there. Luckily Discord was much more secure and he was quickly vacated from there. Slack not so easy.

Anyway, I have a python script running using the Slack API and it is deleting all of those posts automatically. The Slack Channel will be cleaned up and ready to go soon no worries.

In the future if anyone experiences this exploit on a slack channel let me know and I will show you how to clean it up quick and easy!

Why not just use discord? as you said, it's more secure than slack.
