Yes, this was born from the back and forth Swongle discussions for added POW security.

Of course if the RAC is low, thats not a lot of BBP.  (Also you might add that unbanked CPIDs can be in a superblock without a UTXO).
Remember they can get a few BBP from Faucets also.

We might want to ask T-Mike to start an advanced faucet on PODC.org his web site to maybe compensat new Rosetta/WCG users with startup capital if they show a new CPID (to our system), he could fund them with P2P proposal funds (IE one 500,000 proposal for 6 months of new users capital etc).

I think this is a great idea! This will surely add some incentive for new users to start donating computing power to our community Smiley

The dots are indicating individual payouts and the yellow line is a moving average.

I only took 3 sanctuaries for this chart, my own and two others I picked from the explorer, then I exported data from those addresses. I had to manually extract sanctuary payouts from other transactions. (In your own wallet though, you can just go to Transactions, type your sanctuary label in the text box at the top and then click the Export button to get a nice CSV file). I don't know if there is a way this can be done through the API or something, getting payout data from all sanctuaries without going manually through each one.

It's a small sample, but maybe these three are enough to make a somewhat informative chart.

Hi inblue,

how did you got the payouts for other sanctuaries? I like the graphic and would like to add such a graphic to biblepay-central to the sanstuaries section. But I don't know how to get the base data Smiley

I think you can best read this page:
http://wiki.biblepay.org/Distributed_Computing

Especially the 'Biblepay UTXO Reward Chart':
Biblepay UTXO Reward Chart
UTXO Level   UTXO CoinStake Amount   Percentage of Reward
Level 0   0-1 BBP per 1 RAC   0%
Level 1   1-3 BBP per 1 RAC   10%
Level 2   3-5 BBP per 1 RAC   20%
Level 3   5-7 BBP per 1 RAC   30%
Level 4   7-9 BBP per 1 RAC   40%
Level 5   9-11 BBP per 1 RAC   50%
Level 6   11-13 BBP per 1 RAC   60%
Level 7   13-15 BBP per 1 RAC   70%
Level 8   15-17 BBP per 1 RAC   80%
Level 9   17-19 BBP per 1 RAC   90%
Level 10   20 BBP per 1 RAC   100%

You're currently below the threshold to be able to receive rewards. You need to stake a minimum of 8940 BBP with your current RAC.

When this is fixed could you look into reducing the block reward variability.  Right now the PoDC daily super block is 1,179,301 which, since the PoDC reward and the Sanctuary rewards are supposed to both be 38.5% (equal), means the average Sanctuary reward should be 5752.  I've not seen anything remotely close to that.  In the last 5 weeks I have seen one transaction above 5000.

Your post inspired me to make this chart, I hope it can be useful for someone:
(wait while it loads)

First off glad to see you again!

I know that 200 is not far off from 205, but Rob had mentioned the June mandatory would further improve the timing of the PoDC superblock which I took as getting us closer to the stated 205 per day.

The graph looks pretty representative to me as well.  And it furthers my concern, which is that PoDC and MN get the same percentage of block reward (38.5%), however, PoDC gets significantly more on any given day than what the MN's get.   I also comprehend to some extent that the higher the difficulty the lower the reward and the logic therein, but that really impacts the return for MN if the block reward is effectively 20% less than stated at this time and could grow to 50% less if our popularity increases substantially.

My thought is that such a wide variation from the stated targets does two things.  One: It increases the early adopter advantage which granted I'm benefiting from but that still doesn't make it good in my eyes.  Two: It reduces the Investor incentive as right now an Investor could predict their ROI for a MN with the only concern being the number of other MN holders (one variable) but with as much as a 50% variable in block reward, that becomes a complex equation.  Furthermore, I do not believe that any of this, the reduction in the block reward due to high hash rates, is very well explained.  So at a minimum, a better explanation of the variation and how it occurs should be undertaken.

The better solution in my eyes is to reduce the variability.  My thought is a botnet is going to have a hard enough time as it is.  And really a botnet if it attacked again, would be hurt less by a dramatic reduction in reward than the legitimate users are.

In the end, I feel variable rewards (to the level we are and could potentially see them) do less to hurt bad actors than they punish legitimate users.

You have two options get more BBP  (at least 4240 BBP more) or reduce RAC. Latter seem to be quite challenging as I am struggling with it at the moment. I have set BOINC to compute only during night and just 10% Sad My RAC seems to be getting bigger all the time.

Just some thoughts:
1. How much BBP to send?
2. Should we check if the CPID had a valid task in the last 24 hrs?
3. Is something like if you stake 100k BBP then you can heat mine without having to do PoDC a good idea? It's really not hard to have just 1 PoDC thread running and heat mining all you want right now. So it would make it much simpler if you could heat mine with a certain amount of stake.

Are there any native Russian speakers here that are early adopters?

Just got a message from cryptomovie:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdPxq5Bv-U5dwW3_4OvpOSA?view_as=subscriber

He wants to talk about integrating P2P for his channel and give us PR exposure, but I need someone willing to take this on as their baby.

To follow up on the CoinMarketCap missing pairs, I had sent in this text with the request:

"Several trading pairs on already-listed exchanges are missing. For instance, on C-CEX, BTC/BBP is listed, but not USD/BBP, LTC/BBP or DOGE/BBP. Similarly, on SouthXChange, DASH/BBP is missing."

Today I got the following response:
"Please understand that we are unable to track markets with zero volume as there is no data to pull or display. Please re-submit a request once these markets are able to sustain higher levels of daily trading volume.

Thank you!

I'm confused - was that directed at me? If so...read back a few pages, where the missing pairs was brought up by another user, and Rob asked if someone would chase it. I agreed to send in a ticket. Not a big deal, certainly not worth throwing insults over (much less dual-language ones Smiley ). I was just updating the community.

Just to be sure. Is this correct?

-In order to heat mine, you need magnitude.
-To get magnitude, you need to be included in at least one superblock.
-You need to stake at least 5% (1BBP/RAC) to be included in a superblock.

Because I was thinking about people that want to heat mine first in order to get BBP to stake for Boinc-mining. There are a lot of people that think exchanges are cumbersome (convert fiat to BTC to BBP). But I think the best route for them to go is to earn free BBP (Letter Writing, Gospel Links, BiblePay University) instead of heat mining, if it's impossible to get magnitude without staking first.

Yes, this was born from the back and forth Swongle discussions for added POW security.
You do need to be in a superblock to receive magnitude, so that alludes to the fact you need at least 5% of your UTXO staked to fall in the 10% bracket.

It would be a really cool faucet if you could pull it off!
I was thinking $10 worth of bbp, about 3000 bbp if you could make it dynamic.
But I was thinking, if your faucet could access your sanctuaries SAN directory, you can memorize what is in the 'filtered' file once every half hour.
(You can store those records in an SQL table, and refresh them by deleting them and re-saving them once half hour).

Then you can scan that info, when they submit their CPID and see how old it is (calculated by using cpid_start_timestamp) - also see if their exp_avg_rac is > 0, and if the cpid is within say 30 days old (IE they are new), and they are on our Team (which is also in the file), and they have not been paid by your faucet, then they get the reward and you put a record in your sql table.

EDIT: And Togo, if this was an issue about the 2500 vs 5 bbp, I don't mind RAISING the fee in the core wallet.  Maybe it would be a good idea to slate that in also, so that one cannot get around the fee.  Thats something Ill look at in the near future at the same time.

I'm submitting a proposal, but need to add some BBP to cover it ... is there a way yet to send it to my pool account, or will you do that for me?

thanks!

So I think this could be abused because then I could create 1 account per day and earn 3000 BBP every day. It would meet account < 30 days, RAC > 0 , Team=Biblepay. Right? I haven't thought of a way to avoid this.

I think you could say where cpid has RAC > 1000 and Age < 7 days, and IP has not been used, and CPID has not been fauceted, then it would probably be fine, it just has to be set where the RAC required is greater than the effort to get the $10, if you want you can lower the reward a couple bucks and raise the RAC a little higher.

Effecitively this means I would have to go through the hassle to boinc on a powerful machine for a few days to build this up and have not ever been paid in a superblock.

You can get the magnitude from the magnitude file btw, and everything else from the SAN\user file.
