Having a small problem trying to deposit to just-dice using inputs.io. I click the link on just-dice to open up inputs.io but inputs.io just hangs in the new window and doesnt load. If I want to deposit manually from inputs.io, what do I use as the send to address?

Send to just-dice.com and put just your userid in the notes field.  That's the 1 to 5 digit number you see on the 'account' tab.

I totally definitely absolutely think dooglus is a scam!  You should all withdraw your investments as soon as possible and instead use his own evil plan against him! This is the only way to teach him a lesson for his terribly scammy ways - bet lots and lots of bitcoins on just-dice.com and take dooglus' own bitcoins!!!  You know you want to. /waves hands

I can see what nimda's saying: basically I'm holding a lot of Bitcoins, and there's no way anyone can be certain I'm not going to run with it.  I don't see how anyone can argue against that.  It's true.

I'm certain I'm not going to run with it, but what use is it to say that?  People have scammed before and they'll scam again.  I won't, but be careful out there!

The rational entity would run the site at a loss early on to gain a large investor base so he is be able to offer large maximum bets and attract big players, and worry about maximising profits later.  No?

The site is still very young, and under active development.  It's down for maintenance on almost a daily basis.  I can't justify charging high commissions while it's still so new.

I can see that "building a large bankroll to encourage big players" and "building a large bankroll to steal" look the same from the outside.

Re dooglus, I think he was also a contributing programmer for MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) before bitcoin existed. Can't verify that, but there are chat logs from 2005 on some ubuntu discussion.

It's true!  I wrote the original Bubble Bobble driverSmiley  And now I have that damned tune stuck in my head again.  I also contributed to gzip, GNU Emacs, various ubuntu packages, and a bunch of other open source stuff.

No, I'm not open sourcing Just-Dice!

I started using the nick 'dooglus' in order to dodge an IRC ban and never changed back.  Some dick in the #mandrake (which dates this, I guess) channel banned me for proving him wrong in a silly argument about a bug in XChat.  He had offered to give me "all his money" if I could prove him wrong.  When I did so, conclusively, he banned me.

I failed several organic chemistry exams because of that game.  Good thing too, given where I am in life now.

Douglas. You are a genius. Just dice is gambling on crack, so super addictive. You have managed to blend a winning formula perfectly.

Have you considered going mainstream and accepting $.
I foresee every major online gaming company having a just dice look alike.
I foresee brick and mortar casinos having just dice type machines.
I wonder if you can patent just dice? If you can, I would highly recommend that you do. And quickly before someone else does.

Thank you for your kind words.

(I'm practising accepting compliments.  How am I doing?)

However

(oh I'm not doing well)

I don't know what's unique or innovative about Just-Dice that would be patentable.

The original dice concept is old, from SatoshiDice onwards.
Pick your own odds has been doing at CR and PD before JD.
On-site chat is in a million places.

I guess the 'invest' idea is novel.  I don't know enough about how patents work to know if it's patentable.

I despise software patents.  Being legally able to stop someone using a cool idea because "I thought of it first" (or, worse, "you thought of it first but I told the government man about it first") is abhorrent to me, and I want no part of it.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you mean when you say, "I disagree on every level except the binary 'someone is trustworthy or they aren't' level."  What is it specifically that you disagree with?
You said
There is nothing anyone can do to prove they are trustworthy.  Someone can only be proven to be untrustworthy, and that's only after they've scammed someone, not before.
This seems to imply that there's no such thing as partial trust. There are things that anyone can do to partially gain my trust.

Huh?  There's nothing to interpret.  You're reading way too much into my statement.  There is no hidden message to decipher.
Why exactly don't you want to make a bet? With a bet, you tie up no capital and have a positive EV.

I recommend asking me for a signature from my GPG key before doing a trade. I will NEVER deny such a request.

Hey doog, as Iam looking on variance so far (lol sample size right?) it seems like we have way too safe bankroll on house side, were you ever thinking about raising the max win per bet above 1% ?

Also there is a lot of BTCs beeing invested I know you aswered this milion times that it needs to figure out itself, but for not even a month people invested 25k BTC and its growing pretty fast. There really should be some cap on the investments. One person holding 100k BTCs would be really bad for obvious reasons.

This quite obviously isn't possible.

There has been lots of discussion about it in this very thread.  I believe my delay in allowing investors to risk more than 1% of their investment per roll has caused some investors to pull out already.

I do intend to allow user-settable risk factors, but it's a relatively big, relatively dangerous change, and it's also quite tricky to implement it in an efficient way (if each investor risks a different percentage of their roll, the size of their investment relative to other investors changes after each roll - ie. multiple times per second).

I will get to it though.

And I don't see how to cap investment per person.  All Bitcoins look alike to me.  We currently can't match SDICE's 500 BTC max bet on 2x, so I'd say we're not too big yet.  Mind you, they apparently risk a little over 100% of their bankroll per dice roll, so it's easier for them to offer big bets.  It seems to be the "let's hope nobody gets lucky" technique of bankroll manangement.

Yeah I knew about this but that for me is really messy fix for that, you will push some people out that dont want to risk way more in %. I meant it like globaly go to 1,5% or 2%. But then again you know all the numbers and what is good and what is not Smiley Iam just expressing my idea.
