This is why users cannot sync without adding direct connections via nodes or port-forwarding.https://i.imgur.com/IhtVTWA.pngAdvise developers re-compile QT client with UPnP dependencies enabled as the ports used by Globalcoin/Litecoin/Bitcoin are usually closed by default on most modems/routers. This would not be a version or code change, just enabling a feature when compiling/building the current QT client that should have been enabled to begin with.
UPnP (universal plug and play) resolves connection issues by allowing devices/applications to automatically instruct port-forwarding on compatible modems/routers.
Most modems/routers have UPnP support and so re-compiling the client to have UPnP enabled is highly recommended. Users will connect, sync and strengthen the network without needing to muck around with port-forwarding or addnodes.
UPnP is enabled by default for pretty much every other cryptocoin, guessing it was just mistakenly disabled when compiling the latest release?
