It depends on your investment objectives and risk tolerance. If you are looking to just buy and hold one cryptocurrency, it should be Ethereum. I must warn you than holding Ethereum is not for the faint of heart. If you are the type to panic sell when you see your investments down 20–50% then it’s not for you. If you are going to quickly take profits, then it is also probably not for you. If you are looking to invest long-term and hold for at least a couple years then Ethereum could be one of the best investments you ever make and If you are more risk averse you can go with Bitcoin or some combination of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin is significantly less volatile but has less upside potential.

I will recommend you to buy BTC because the price growth is more rapid and high as compared to the altcoins (like ethereum). Although the price of BTC is too high to buy but never forget that the growth percentage would be the same for your each amount of investment. Another pump is expected in the beginning of the next year (in 2018), so grab your coins before the rockets fire.

In my opinion, owning both bitcoin and ethereum is a good investment. Everybody knows that both will be rising significantly in the next few years and It is best to diversify your investment so that you won't feel too disappointed if you have profit loss in one of your investment. Do not put all your eggs in one basket.

Bitcoin is more important than ethereum. Bitcoin is safe than any other currency.  And now bitcoin's price is high than anyother currency.on the other hand.so i prefer investment in BTC will bring more profit than ETH

if u buying for trading(expoert market) i suggest u go for eth because of the high fee. i suggest u to go for btc and hold because most expert target btc will reach 20k by next year

I think both currencies are positioning themselves as conservative and safe investments, so both seem like good options in the medium term. In fact watching the charts of both coins, during the last weeks they have maintained a direct correlation more and more similar, when in previous months the correlation was rather negative, that is, when the bitcoin went up, ethereum used to go down and vice versa but now this is not the case, which shows that both options are increasingly complementary.

I would appreciate you to buy both if possible. Do not leave bitcoin as its flying towards moon. The price has gone up and reaching $12K. Where as ETH, its still gaining values. the growth is healthy. Less investment is more than enough for ETH than Bitcoin. BTc would be for short term return and ETH would be for a long term return.

The market is unpredictable now and personally I wouldn't invest in Bitcoin nor Ethereum. IOTA is trending now, so I think it will give you better ROI (Im taking about short/mid term)

To me both are very good, bitcoin and ethereum have their own advantages. However I personally recommend the bitcoin.

   I think investing in crypto-currencies is all about risk and profit appetite,
and capital you have, exactly what you said! Bitcoin made x 10 this year,
Ethereum also made a very high rise. I think this two coins have potential
to rise x 10 and even more in next couple years, or sooner.
   I plan to have both Bitcoin and Ethereum, along with many other alt-coins.
Making nice portfolio is my goal, and I would like to include as many alt-coins
as I can.

It depends on your preferences but for me and i will choose both. Bitcoin is too expensive but the chart shows that is is highly increasing on the other hand ethereum is also good in investment specially now that it is more popular due to the fast increasing demand of ETH.

Bitcoin and ethereum are good for investment use, but most people choose to invest in bitcoin, in the long run and will earn considerable profits.

I think both are equally potential in the future, but seeing bitcoin is more popular and its development is faster than etherum or other cryptocurrency I would certainly prioritize using bitcoin for my main investment, because that would be much safer than putting your money in etherum or other altcoin,,

For mow ETH price rise slowly which make it good for long term holding .

bitcoin increase fast and can make money in short rang with ability to exchange it for USD or paid using cards

Buy Bitcoin of course. It can soar up to $25,000 dollars in a few years (2 or 3). I've invested on bitcoin too. Good luck.

If you are a day trader it should be absolutely bitcoin as the reason of volatility.
Ethereum is a less volatile one and seems it is a safe port for invertors for long term

Always go for bitcoin, all my recent bitcoin investments were in bitcoin in this year 2017. Perhaps, I should invest more money in Ethereum next year 2018
