2. 0% armed?  So an armed deputy at Columbine doesn't count?

Deputy Neil Gardner WAS NOT at Columbine High School, he was AT Clement Park. Had he been on the Columbine High School campus, Harris and Klebold would have faced near-immediate resistance. When seconds count, the police are minutes away. Writ large, in the case of every massacre with more than 3 victims (IIRC the peer-reviewed/non-debunked research correctly, since off-duty police officers and armed civilians have stopped them, when already present at the scene).

Revisionist history to support "gun control" needs to STOP. NOW.

We also have plenty of people that goes nuts for no apparent reason, but its just they do not even know how to use or where to find a gun, and any other weapon is simply uneffective and definitely not as cool as an "assault rifle" when planning to cause as much death as possible.

9/11 terrorists used boxcutters to hijack planes and kill thousands. Boston Marathon was hit by a bomb. There was a guy who got mad and drove his pickup truck into a crowd killing tens of people.

There are lots of ways to kill/hurt many people without using an assault riffle.

Oh, and actual assault riffles are already highly regulated under machine gun regulations, so very few mass shootings are done with assault riffles. That is why they had to invent the new category "assault weapon" to ban, which is essentially just "rifle which looks scary".
Don't forget the latest iteration of this nonsense, "assault pistol", which includes all pistols with a "scary high capacity magazine", which basically is everything being sold today.

Certainly it includes all the Glock pistols, which is the most popular product.

What is a high capacity for a pistol, more than 6? more than 10? just about any magazine fed pistol you can slap in an extended magazine in place of the regular one.

In the recent American bleeding heart liberal guncontrol clusterfuck, it was more than 7 in one version, 10 in another.

You USA people are scary when it comes to your human right to bear arms. UK has the best gun laws - ban'em.

Arguably it was the intent of the Founders of our Constitution to make us just that.

Scary.

Yeah, scary indeed. Many seem to take too seriously what is written on that piece of paper.

Yeah, how dare pro-liberty people believe all government statistics and peer-reviewed, non-debunked research that shows innocents with guns are bad for criminals, and "gun control" only enables the innocents it disarms to be murdered, raped, and maimed with impunity, if we're not thrown in prison first, for the "crime" of self-defense. We're just a bunch of fucking morons for believing that defending innocent life is more important than enabling criminals who write, and support "gun control" laws 100%.

And how dare we believe the endless stream of reports of gun "thefts" and gun trafficking from and by THE GOVERNMENT, which are used to justify further disarmament of ONLY innocents via "gun control".

You USA people are scary to criminals when it comes to your human right to bear arms. UK has the best gun laws to enable criminals' utopia- ban'em.

So where do you think criminals get their guns?

Pretty much only from gun owners and gun freaks and gun sellers. They sure as hell don't get them from those of us who neither own nor want a gun.

Next time you complain about criminals with guns, remember who armed them.

I'm not sure that I fully comprehend your European perspective from your biased and weirded out coverage of US stuff.  Guns bad, Obama God, etc.  Does not matter one bit, really.

I can tell you that in two separate periods of time some years ago, I did carry a gun, and never thought it was a big deal.  Definitely was in some situations where packing that firearm was a seriously good thing.  Never had to pull it out, never used it and hope I never have to.  So there is a bit of actual reality for you.  Today I don't generally carry but on occasion do.  Lots of people I know have the same general point of view.  Some women get assaulted or raped, then they get a permit.  They learn the hard way, you might say.

See, it does not matter that you think you know better or your country is better or whatever.   I have also enjoyed walking down streets that were safe and where it wouldn't ever be considered to carry a weapon.  So WHAT?

Other people live in other places with other conditions.

Part of the progressive, socialist mindset that is simply wrong is the idea that one solution fits everyone and every place somehow.

This has nothing to do with coverage, this is just basic common sense.

But im really not looking to discuss your adventures in the criminal world any further.

Ah, that old "basic common sense" canard, used to justify all crimes against human rights, up to genocide. Thanks for justifying your boycott. /ignore

Lol, it wasn't criminal activities.  They've mostly all got some kind of firearms.

But what we need to discuss is why opinionators on the Internet think they know better than I about what I should or can or will do.  Or what what any average person should or can or will do.

Of course it doesn't matter anyway, because ordinary people will do what they can or should within their legal rights.

So chatter away.

What do you think should be done about assault weapons? Do you support them or not?

I don't pretend I have any say what so ever about what other people do with their property or what property they can own. But if they aim with their weapon in the general direction of either me or my family they will pay the price fur such an assault.

My personality type: INTJ - please forgive my weaknesses (Not naturally in tune with others feelings; may be insensitive at times, tend to respond to conflict with logic and reason, tend to believe I'm always right)

UK's citizens live in fear, and the UK has a much higher violent crime rate.

Up here, any handgun magazine that holds more than 10 rounds gets classified as "prohibited" (not prohibited prohibited.  It's technically possible for someone to be licensed to possess "prohibited" weapons, but it's almost impossible to actually do so).  Handguns in general are "restricted" and far more rare than in the USA, and you can pretty much forget about carrying one around unless you're an armoured car guard or similar or can convince a judge you have a real good reason to carry one.

For semi-automatic centre-fire rifles (manual action rifles or anything using rim-fire ammunition can have as much magazine as you like), the limit is 5 rounds.
