Question: If everybody agrees, at this time we can push out a short term fix. I make no guarantees that the difficulty won't get jacked up again, but at this point I just want the coin to move again and don't see a long term solution coming.
Yes, "band-aid" the coin.
No, thats a waste of time. Wait for a solid fix.

So when/where has this coin been announced to the Minecraft community, I would be interested in seeing which servers are adopting this, and the Minecraft players reaction to a crypto currency being used.

premined 1000 blocks? and start with 7500 blocks? lol Grin

Quote from: The_Catman on Today at 05:44:29 AM
I'd like to clarify before anyone jumps in screaming about how it already has 7000+ block mined.

This coin was released to minecraft communities long before it has been announced here. We want the people the coin was really intended for to build up a strong network before we released it to the piranha tank that is btctalk. Yes, there has been premine, that will be going towards funding servers that adopt the currency.

Unfortunately, since jackjack announced his intent to create a coin of the same name, we've been forced to announce here earlier than planned. Hopefully thinks work out well.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=249779.0

Yes, the official announcement on the bitcoin forum was unplanned. The announcement went out to the minecraft community long before it came up in the bitcoin forums. The coins are in the hands of the players so they can be used as intended as an in-game currency.

Feel free to play minecraft and use craftcoin and/or start a server with the craftcoin plugin to support the project.

It's not "starting" with 7500 blocks. I've already clarified that this coin has been fully released and operational for days.

BTCTalk is not the center of the crypto-currency world.

I ran the CraftCoin wallet, followed directions at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gv3-sFgyF2djHAZNxa49EBx7Q3wM0e255Gz8EN4AZEw/edit?pli=1

I'm new to this. I don't see a .conf file. How do I know I am producing coins? I chose to solomine. Where do I add nodes as above in this thread?

Worrying about premine IMO is much like asking about the price of a product without considering the value of that product.

CraftCoin has a pre-existing market of gamers, giving it instant value. One needs to compare this with the premine and only then make conclusions.

Sorry mate, but I'm not the dev on this coin, I just did some graphical work and minor tweaks after the coin was already released. It's not my job to remember how much the dev pre-mined for the servers that are adopting this coin.

I ran the CraftCoin wallet, followed directions at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gv3-sFgyF2djHAZNxa49EBx7Q3wM0e255Gz8EN4AZEw/edit?pli=1

The conf file isn't generated by the program, you have to create it yourself. Make sure to restart the client afterwards so it loads the new config.

Ok, followed directions as above, took craftcoin.conf straight from #3 with no changes, placed in the /AppData/CraftCoin directory, restarted the wallet, and restarted solo mining. This is the bottom of the debug.log file, am I mining?

Looks like it, I've never bothered CPU mining with the client so I honestly can't tell for sure, but that's what it seems to be relaying.

Bounty!
This is a personal bounty from my own wallet, I'm offering 300 CRC to the first craftcoin P2Pool. That's over 30% of my total coins (the pic in the OP is my wallet), so you better appreciate it!

P2Pool must be running for at least 5 days before I pay the bounty, I don't want anyone running a quick setup and bailing!
Must have less than 3% fees, preferably using the fancy frontend but not absolutely necessary.

And with that I'm headed to bed for a few hours, ciao.

wow, so launch now but dif 0.36. really high Sad

LiteCoin diff is 840... So I consider 0.36 to be still low...
Yeah, you won't mine 10,000 a day but what would that give you anyway? If you can, everyone can...

Small block payouts, nice hashrate support and a real application for it already... Could do very well on Cryptsy Smiley

All I have room for is a CPU miner.

For that I use

setgenerate true 6

in the instructions, in console. Default is 12 which overwhelms my i7 and slows down GPU mining.

It would be nice to be able to put this setgenerate true 6 into the craftcoin.conf file, but I have not found the way how. Neither in the conf file nor in the command line options. That way I could have craftcoin-qt.exe start mining on startup or anytime automatically.

Anyone knows how to do setgenerate true 6 automatically?

I can do 1k CRC. With the low block reward and the relatively long block time it has taken me some time to mine that substantial an amount of CRC, so I'd ask 0,0023 BTC per CRC.

Anyone knows how to do setgenerate true 6 automatically?

Add these lines to your craftcoin.conf
Code:
gen=1
genproclimit=6

or start your QT wallet with these parameters:

Code:
qt-craftcoin -gen=1 -genproclimit=6

or there are other way how to do that with craftcoind, you can even use craftcoind to control your craftcoin-qt from different computer....

You can use simpler syntax, setgenerate true, that will use maximum CPU cores available and that is the same like command:
Code:
qt-craftcoin -gen=1
