Question: If everybody agrees, at this time we can push out a short term fix. I make no guarantees that the difficulty won't get jacked up again, but at this point I just want the coin to move again and don't see a long term solution coming.
Yes, "band-aid" the coin.
No, thats a waste of time. Wait for a solid fix.

To be honest. Blindfolded fucked the network. He literally ditched it. I am the developer for the java plugin and he has just up and left. HE IS GONE THIS COIN IS DEAD AND DOESNT DESERVE ITS SLOT ON CRYPTSY

I am removing the java plugin and making it compatible for bottlecaps. Everyone move on from this thread.

Yeah, I've been talking to Blindfolded nearly every day, and he has been busy for two days now, besides that hes been working on trying to get the difficulty fixed. Gonna call FUD on this one.

Alright tell Russ that I have finished vault integration. Also tell him I am done working for him since he will not respond to me. Also give hunter a hearty apology that he has to work with him.

IMPORTANT!

The chain is stalled, the difficulty is stuck but Craftcoin is not dead!

Blindfolded has been busy the last while with personal things, I have been working with another dev to fix the diff algorithm and therefore fix the chain.

Please be patient! We're working as fast as we can but we all have real life issues to deal with as well!

Thanks for the hookup, you're hung on the same block.

I know the chain is diff locked but the client won't say "synced".  Is this just because it expects something closer to target block time, or does anyone have any idea how that works?

For now I'll assume I'm as "up to date" as it gets.

If you go to Help -> Debug Window you'll see a line about "Current Number of Blocks". If the value next to that is >9323 then you're probably synced up. When blockchains get stalled or are otherwise not functioning quite as intended the client will often not be able to tell whether it's properly synced or not.

Ok 9232 is what they're all at. I just wanted to make sure that i's a messaging/status issue and not some blocks floating around that the client won't sync.

Yes, sorry to not reply for so long. Been busy with work, and some life stuff came up that I need to focus my attention on. Nobody has abandoned the coin. It is just simply stuck, and it is beyond my ability to fix. IMO there is a huge difference between "ditching" the coin, and being at a roadblock because of technical issues. I have reached out to the people that I know that are able to help, we just need to be patient and things will be corrected.

Big thanks to all of the people who have supported and helped along the way. I will do what I can to keep everybody informed.

Take your time. I don't know what the right answer is but maybe look at how some other coins handle flash-mining. I think it may be better to be stuck than go through the constant rape-mining that ARG does. Being stuck adds a level of scarcity to Craftcoin Wink

I am releasing a client that I am sure everyone will agree with including Russ. I will be posting the source files of the files I have changed. The goal will be a manual retarget and updated retarget times to prevent future flash mining. I have repaired Bottlecaps with a similar method. The client will be posted here soon. IT IS YOUR CHOICE TO USE THE CLIENT! I am not trying to trick anybody as this is the actual block chain and none of your money will be lost!

@Magnet I am being 100% legitimate. Download the client and check it out. Nothing drastic changed no forks nothing but a manual retarget after block 9323
