Why do I have the lurking feeling that Mr Teal is somehow involved with this news.

The news is not quite ready.  I filled grnbrg in on a few things so he now understands why the news is worth waiting for.  It's just being coordinated with a couple people.  Apology on the delay, but I will not say "2 more weeks" because it's imminent.

Just going to let the suspense build even more!  Just please no pointy sticks, or dull ones for that matter.  Tongue

P.S. The jet-lag is from me returning from a trip that is part of the news.

Did you buy a timeshare in the Bahamas?

Can we get an up date there on the plans to announce a date on which an announceable event will be timetabled for an official announcement about when you can tell us about it?

How come you get insider information, but the rest of us don't?

Lab_Rat wanted someone to be able to disseminate information and answer questions if he is too busy to do so.  Based on the relationship built over on the BFL forums last year, he asked me if I wanted to be that contact.  He is trusting me to answer the questions I can based on the public information that is available and to not release any information that I might get that is not yet public.  I probably should have kept my mouth shut last Thursday, but a release sounded imminent, and I wanted to wake things up a bit.

Other than being able to identify which users own which bond addresses, based on the trading I have overseen, I don't think I've had access to any information that hasn't become public in fairly short order, though.

Yeah, well, this is business not teen idol. how about we just all get the information at once.
Nothing personal grnbrg, I like you.  but this is starting to feel like a repetitive game with other peoples money.  I don't like to be teased when it comes to money.

Since we gone off the path of the original agreement of what would/would not be paid to the holders, I would like to see some results and not just hear that some mysterious results are somewhere in our future for like 5 days.

Hopefully this is not too tin foily, but perhaps something in this arena could be considered epic news.

Who wants to get out their hats?

Quote from: Cointerra Email Update
DATELINE 1/20/2014: AUSTIN, TX.

Our last update on January 14th included a short video of a working TerraMiner IV, and further information regarding the testing and characterization status.

Over the past week our engineering team has been busy conducting some board tweaks needed before we can push the button to commence production of first batch of TerraMiners.

At the same time we have been preparing the hardware for mandatory FCC and CE product testing and certification, and UL safety testing and certification which we have been informed will take approximately 2-3 days to complete.

We expect to begin shipping the initial run of units at the end of this week, incrementally ramping up production for volume shipping commencing next week. In parallel the production lines at both of our Central Texas manufacturing facilities are presently assembling the chassis (including the rear fans and power supplies), front panels (with fans, grills and LEDs), and the other non-board components in preparation for the fully-populated boards to be dropped in for final assembly and a short but essential burn-in quality control testing period.

TerraMiner front panels (populated with fans and grills) racked and ready to be bolted onto the chassis

TerraMiner chassis being built-up on one of the production lines.

We have signed off on the first release version of the software which controls the TerraMiner, having made some final tweaks to the web-based Control Panel, and flashed to each BeagleBone Black controller board. The user guide, with step-by-step instructions for setting up, configuring and operating the TerraMiner will be posted to the CoinTerra website prior to shipping our first production units.

We expect to be able to post another status report later this week with updates on the certification processes and shipment of our very first production miners.

Dunno why people are coming down on grnbrg -- I quite enjoyed the heads up that info was coming, and even LR himself said he'd possibly post something that very evening.  Obviously there were some variables that were not initially apparent, and I'd prefer that LR post definites than maybes, so for me the wait isn't a big deal.  grnbrg had nothing to do with that, and I for one would still enjoy his tidbits of news (so don't let the mob dissuade you grnbrg!).

He said it was great news, which is good enough for me.  LR will undoubtedly post something very soon.

My guess:  we'll get somewhere in the range of 300TH/s --> 3PH/s in the chute. Grin  plus, GD BFL will be delivering in... 2 weeks.

I await the word of the LR Smiley

Just a thought: It seems to me a better chart of labrat mining performance - in contrast to the dual hashrate & difficulty chart - would be a graph of the cumulative daily delta of the percentage changes of hashrate and difficulty since inception. It seems this would account for the area under the curves and give a better idea on the trend of LRM decay or growth.

Spreadsheets, I love spreadsheets. (is that weird?)  I have difficulty and hashrate data from the beginning if someone would like to do the percentages, other than that I can get around to them when I have a moment.
