Looks like the approximate hash rate has spiked significantly.

Actually the math says its still only representing ~100TH/s.

Nice thing about the bonus: gives a way to compare our 17.7 TH/s to the bonus amount to estimate overall mine hash.

Sad thing about the bonus: it is completely up to Lab_Rat to pay it and at what amount so it could be LESS than 75% of what is mined on top of our 17.7 TH/s or mathematically figured to make it look like w/e TH/s he feels we should see.

i.e. Bonus coins mined divided by Contractual coins mined = Ratio : (Ratio * 17.7 TH/s) + 17.7 TH/s = Net Hashrate : Net Hashrate divided by .75 = Approximate mine hashrate.

18.5 BTC/5.79241206 BTC   = 3.194
(3.194 X 17.7 TH/s) + 17.7 TH/s = 74.2338 TH/s Net Hashrate
74.2338 TH/s / .75 = 98.9784 TH/s Approximate mine TH/s

See where I am going with this? Numbers do not lie... they are just wrong if all the variables aren't entered. Hashrate is missing or all the coins mined on top of our contractual hash is being paid at far less than 75% since Lab_Rat said we were "North of 100 TH/s" when he responded to that question.

Of course that is all speculation due to lack of info... except I do know CEX had pool issues this week so... that may be a part of it... except that would be reflected in the numbers for contractual as well as bonus so... no telling what is real at this point.

Edit: Contracts, not bonds.

As BFL monarchs are due to be shipped soon(ish!) - relatively speaking and judging by the 'snippet' videos of BFL Monarchs running at box standard 600GH/s (0.002BTC per hour) these should produce 0.000006BTC per contract at current difficulty (someone check my math)?

Do we know how many Monarchs were ordered and plans to run either at 600GH/s or faster given the current problems with current draw and associated heat - warranty allegedly allows up to 1.2/1.4TH/s? - (Cue usual discussion BFL, delivery, promises, .....)

Down on what we got on 17 May (ie the second week with a "bonus"). Last week doesn't count, obviously.

“GHash.IO does not have any intentions to execute a 51% attack… it could risk our investments in physical hardware and we see no benefit from having 51% stake in mining”.

Concerns however have been raised in response to suggestions that Ghash can be trusted even in the theoretical scenario that it gains 51% hashrate of the entire network. It is argued that although Ghash itself might not profit from such an attack, they might be coerced or bribed  by government entities or entities which may see bitcoins as a competitor. The currently increasing hashrate share of Ghash therefore is seen as alarming by some, while others consider it to be a temporary blip due to numerous unpredictable factors.  Undecided

Last time this happened people reacted pretty quickly and they dropped below 30% fast. I'm not going to worry unless 40% plus lasts a few days.

BTW, Spondoolies looks to be creating a monster of a machine, the Yukon.

I'd like to hear if there's any official word on interest in their miners.

If you are able to get in the 1st batch you may have a chance of making some profit.  But 6Th  with September batch 2 delivery @ $5000 will never make back what you need to spend in BTC to purchase one now.

Unless you are able to buy in bulk and get a significant discount.  If You are betting that BTC price will increase, you would be better off just converting cash to BTC and holding it. ;-)

I have yet to have invested in anything BTC related where this wasn't the case.  :sigh:

I thought that's what BTC investing was? You give them an amount in exchange they give you less in return Cheesy

I managed to ride a few AM fractionals from ~0.5 BTC to ~4.4 BTC (full share price) ... wish I'd have been "all in"

This BTC investing lark though, you either need brass balls or crystal balls.

Back from my week away and 3 hours after I get back, got into a pretty bad car accident.  No one was *seriously* injured.  Just a broken thumb for me and a bit of whiplash for everyone.

I'll try to answer the questions I noticed real quick though. (not fun typing)

Spondoolies are of interest and I'm looking to do something with them.  I can assure you I'm not paying that outrageous price though Wink

BFL: no ship date in sight, but everything is ready for them.  I'm running the numbers to figure out what to expect and see if there is a better way to handle the situation.

GHash no longer has the "bonus" producing equipment on it, but it seems to be producing less coins on other pools....  Something weird with GHash...
