Any stance you care to share on Bitmain? I went in for one of the new S3 miners. Seems like a nice option for individuals but perhaps not ideal for the big boys.

I met the guys from Bitmain, and know people who are happy with their S1 and S2's, but we don't have any.  Another company I think may be a great option is Spondoolies.  Spondoolies will have pretty good power cons., but the ship date isn't now like the S3's... These are all things to take into consideration and need to be weighed by whomever is doing the purchasing.
Thanks for the updates!  Its nice seeing you on here every week giving updates on whats going on even if there isn't much.
I've bugged the guys from Bitmain about making cards for their S2s based on the new 28nm chip.  I haven't heard anything back but in my opinion that is the way to go with their products (if they do that).  I have had problems twice now where I've had to physically remove power from an S2, let it sit, then power it back up and the cards showed up and mined properly.  But I have no other complaints.  Spondoolies look nice but I haven't done that much research into them.  I'm not interested in an SP10 and their SP30s are on preorder.  The SP30 is however the best THs/$$ value IF it was shipping today, it beats out the AntMiner S3 by a little bit and does not require external power supplies.

I still haven't heard anything from BFL either.
Just got a response from Bitmain about upgrading the S2s  : )
"upgrade plan will be released soon, pay attention to our official announcement for update later:)"
In response to my question - "Will BITMAIN be selling cards based on the new 28nm BM1382 chips that will fit in the S2 AntMiner?"

That's cool.  It'll cut down costs for bitmain as well as for previous customers.

Seems like a total no brainer to get a refund if we can get some immediate hardware from almost any other source.

Yes!

The only problem is that those BFL assholes, has for some reason a waiting time 30- 45 days waiting time for refunds.
To take refund from BFL would also be the right thing to do. On the aspect that not that many contract holders like to throw money at BFL

I'm surprised BFL still had enough customer goodwill to survive their 65nm debacle. I guess the proposed hash rates and delivery time were too attractive. I didn't really believe their hype that they would move much faster the second time around because of lessons learned from their first ASICs. I believed they would be late but golly-gee-willakers they've gone well past what I expected.

If this round doesn't kill every ounce of confidence in BFL I don't know what will. Corporate Karma has come around exacting a toll for poor customer treatment/service and opaque intentionally vague/misleading updates on progress.

I wish BFL customers well but I feel like it's a similar situation to Mt. Gox. Crypto is better off without the company stinking up the place and customers had plenty of warning that things didn't pass the smell test.

You'll know me as dgiors in some other forums.

And no one has the balls to do anyting about it but wait for the lawyers to do what they do.

By the time they get done what they do, BFL will have mined a gazillion dollars in BTC, will have spent all the money and will file what we call a "Straight Fuck You!", otherwise known as a bankruptcy and Bitcoiners will have no one to blame but themselves.

Bitcoiners want to "take the high road" and play by the rules.

Right.

Do that.

Really?

Surprised you haven't seen my suggestion!

You cannot fight BFL by playing by the rules and I am getting ready to go on my own as I do have some support from certain members of the community who are not eunuchs.

In your position as a Mod on the BFL forums (If you indeed still are) you might let them know that I am coming after them and Hell is coming with me!

Good stuff!!!

I think Mindsync Miner is spot on that BTC would be better off without the stink of BFL. I wonder why BFL is still allowed to attend
BTC conferences? Unless these BTC conferences are about scamming money, are they LR?

@LostDutchman Is there a petition to get BFL banned from attending, anything and everything BTC related? Is that something you could look into?

tl;dr:  "We're going to firehose all of the various internet Bitcoin forums and boards with posts containing BFL contact info, please send me $100 to buy the software."

Really?!

I'd rather give BFL another hundred dollars than send it to someone to pollute the internet with more spam.
