I think you are mistaken about the mentality of those who invested in BTC before the March/April bubble. The vast majority might allocate some BTC to actively trade, but they have for sure a healthy amount of coins they will hold for the very long run (+10 years).

You seem to forget that early investors understand BTC was designed to go bust or skyrocket well above 5 figures in USD per BTC, possibly 6 figures. Is basic math.

This has nothing to do with basic math - we're way past that and there's no simple basic math to tell you the future price of a commodity or a fiat.

We're talking about politics here, mass psychology, secret agendas and complex fiat formulas which are affected by many uncontrollable variables.  In order for Bitcoin to go to $300 or $1,000 there must be a perfect storm and that has to be created by someone or something - like an ETF.

And I'm sorry, but I have not seen these devoted investors and actually besides myself I have yet to meet just one other guy who is putting his hard earned dollars in Bitcoin and other alt coins - buying them straight with cash to keep and wait for that day to arrive.

And the real money won't be made in Bitcoin but other alt coins and when it comes to those riskier coins I really see not one person who is buying these in cash (since mining for some of these is nearly impossible (ie. Devcoin and ixCoin)) and publicly stating their goal is to hold for a certain price level.

And that's to be expected - these people are programer types - and these vary greatly from actual investors.  Investors haven't come in yet - they're still waiting for confirmation that Bitcoin and alt coins will be around in the near to mid-term future - a worry which will be eliminated by an ETF license.

Are any of you buying ASICS?

I'm thinking of starting a free speech ASICS Thread since we now have at least 5 viable good ASICS companies.  Lots of people and especially newbies would want to get involved in a thread like that.  And what better thread than one that lets take a whiz on all the shitty ASICS companies.  

In other words, nothing is off limits - free speech to the max.

I've got plans for this coin but its gonna require at least $30,000-$50,000 and I'm not sure I'll have it.  I have other projects ahead of it like buying ASICS but if I were to get that much to throw away on a project you can bet I'd do my best to make this a top notch coin.

As you can see I'm not a short term thinker. I'm not even trying to get this coin on cryptcy or coinE which would be pretty easy to do.  I'm thinking long term but my goals are lofty and I don't know if I'll have the money to do it right.
